my husband and i are almost definately going to have to live seperately for a while due to the fact that we both can't find work in the same city ... nor can we afford to move together :(

he has the 2 year green card, so when that 2 years is up we have to go for the lifting of conditions (or adjustment of status?). there, we'll have to again prove that we're a real married couple and that our lives are intertwined. will a temporary (that is about 4 months) seperation have any ill effect on this? anyone have any experience with it?

thanks

I have no experience with this but can imagine it might raise some red flags. However, you have to do what you have to do to survive. Those kind of seperations are not unheard of between married couples. I would say you need to work extra hard to prove your marriage is real and be upfront with the immigration people the whole time. Save the phone bills and tickets and whatever other evidence of relationship you have just like when you were compiling stuff for your K1 interview. I would also compile as much evidence of this being a necessary and temporary seperation.

Like I said at the beginning, I have no experience with this, it is just my humble opinion. Good luck with everything!!
