Hello all,

I hope you can shed some light on a Notice of Action letter we just received.

We received our NOA-1 dated July 3, 2013 and our file was transferred to the VSC, as expected because I as petitioner reside in GA. Today, however, we received this Notice of Action letter informing us that our petition is being transferred to the Texas Service Center and it states "We transferred this case because the record indicates that office has jurisdiction over the case. That office will notify you of subsequent action taken on this case."

I didn't think that the TSC even handled i-129Fs... Further, the letter tells us that we can locate the processing times for our petition at the new center by going to the website (www.uscis.gov/graphics/index.htm). There's a link for processing times, but when there is no processing time information for TSC / I-129F.

I've done a search on VJ to see about transferred petitions, but the only thing I could find is that they sometimes shuffle petitions around to help balance workload of cases, but I can't find anything about transfers because another office has "jurisdiction over the case".

Any ideas what is going on? I'm concerned because we were rapidly making progress with the processing times at VSC, and now it seems we're in a limbo zone of some sort and no idea when we might get processed.

Thanks,

Rob and Adrian

It's been happening for a while now and is common.

Whether or not that's a good thing for you specifically I can't really say for sure, as the VSC processed my application in a little over 3 months. Which may well be due to them having off loaded a bunch to Texas. I wasn't going to complain though.

The TSC had not processed I-129F petitions for years. It used to be just the VSC or the CSC up until a few months ago. The backlog was so bad at the VSC, they decided to begin processing some at the TSC to help get the petitions that had been sitting there for months and months finally adjudicated. Many were transferred from the VSC to the TSC and people began getting their I-129F petitions processed.

A couple weeks ago they began to send petitions directly to the TSC from the Dallas Lockbox intake facility that would have gone to the VSC, and the receipt numbers for those will begin with SRC.

Mine was recently transferred as well from VSC to TSC.

My NOA1 date is 7/8 , and my transfer was 8/9.

They didn't even have my file for a month properly, and transferred it to TSC.

...hopefully it's a good sign though that very soon we will have an answer so we can move forth with the process.

From what I can see on here it looks like 8 out of 10 people get an approval within a month of the transfer. ( wishful thinking wub.png )

Butterflycharmer8, I noticed that too - it seems that everyone who has been transferred has gotten their NOA2 within a month afterwards. It'd be wonderful if the same occurred for us - good luck to you!!
