Where did you download the form from, it sounds like an old one

.

download a new one here: I-864A

The I-864, and I-864A do not need to be notarized. The I-134 used at the K-3 Visa interview does.

The I-864A is used by a co-sponsor in the same household as the sponsor. The sponsor files an I-864.

You are filing this as part of the I-130 at the NVC?

You don't have many details in you profile as to what part of the process that you are at.

Thanks for the help, this is actually for my spouse's interview for the K3 visa. The reason I don't have a time line, is because I was not keeping track of dates and such unfortunetly. By the time I started using these forums, and saw that people make these time lines it was a bit late.

There is no joint-sponsor with the I-864A. There is only a sponsor who uses a household members income on their I-864. The I-864A is a contract between the sponsor and the household member and is completed by both the sponsor and the household member. A joint sponsor when used will ALWAYS complete their own I-864.

When downloading the form 1864A, it says that has to be signed infront of an immigration officer, or it has to be notarized. But there doesn't seem to be any space provided to show this.

Does this form need to be notarized?

From the Final Rules Questions and Answers.........

it will no longer be necessary to sign an Affidavit of Support, EZ Affidavit of Support, and Contract Between Household Member and Sponsor (Form I-864A) in front of a notary public, immigration officer, or consular officer. Rather, as permitted by Federal law, the forms will provide that they are signed “under penalty of perjury.” Both of these measures lessen the burden on sponsors and household members without reducing the legal standing or enforceability of the documents they sign.
