I have the following questions:

We submitted a 751 for my wife. Will I get a number and confirmation to check the status? How long till I can expect that?

It says the CSC takes 6 months processing now. My wife's 2 yr CR green card will expire in about 2 month. Will this be a problem?

You should get your receipt number within two weeks of them receiving your packet. Your wife will be sent an extension letter which extends her residency for one year. She should carry that letter with her at all times until she gets the 10 year green card.

Six months is just average- it may take up to nine months, even a year.

The extension letter will have a number on it but that number doesn't work to check status. You need the number on the bio letter. But there is nothing to check, really. Just sits around for months.

8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!
