American Express gave Oprah Winfrey a 'black card'? What a bunch of racists!! I bet if she was white, she would get a 'white card'

Lol, nope. Brittnay Spears has one, or had one. Kevin Federline went to town on that thing when he was married to her.

no it isn't. the only question is. why is she claiming racism when the only racism involved is in her & other race baiter heads?

Well Smoke, if you can up with a vaild reason why she was refused that bag, I'm all ears.

"Hermes regrets not having been able to accommodate Ms. Winfrey and her team and to provide her with the service and care that Hermes strives to provide to each and every one of its customers worldwide," the store said in a statement.

"Hermes apologizes for any offense taken due to such circumstances."

The store said the incident occurred on June 14 around 6:45 p.m., about 15 minutes after the store closed. It said Winfrey and her team arrived at a time when "a private PR event was being set up inside."

a rude customer showing up after hours. possible? yes.

i don't know of any store that cares what race a customer is. everyone's money (in the US anyways) is green.

Was there any indication that Oprah was rude in this store? Or does one act make you a pariah.

I'd wager both, see how quick she had those kids back to back?

He must be something special, have you seen his current wife?

showing up after hours & running a sales girl is rude. look to left, then to the right of the racism you see here. where is it? i can't find it.

I agree with you on that one. If the store is closed for a PR event, she should have just left it alone. But the sales girl was in the wrong. There was no reason not to show her the bag when she repeately asked for it.

I agree with you on that one. Now, let's talk about this one in Switzerland.

oh the one that she was completeley alone w/o a single member of her entourage in tow? i'm calling BS right there.

this lady is an international entertainment icon. she can buy & sell our employers anytime she wants, she is not traveling to the bathroom w/o security.

How can you call BS when the article itself said she was without her detail? In Switzerland, she is just a regular person, as evidenced that the sales clerk had no idea who she was. Heck Brad Pitt brags about being able to walk around Paris with Angie by themselves and they are more known that Oprah. Look at Gwen Paltrow, and others that take residence in those overseas countries. That's the allure of it, no paps, and way less scrunity.

Poor customer service would be ignoring a customer, not ringing them up, not knowing about the merchandise you are selling. My wife works for AAFES, if she ever told a customer they couldn't afford something, she would be fired on the spot. Rude doesn't even begin to cover it.

Just another event that has nothing do with race being blown out of proportion. I can't believe people are actually arguing about whether the store was open or not. It reminds me of the silliness surrounding our favourite trial.

And some in the black community wonder why people are getting sick of hearing about racism. I guess it gets ratings and sells newspapers/tabloids though. Sad thing is the real cases of racism get drowned out by this silliness because it's Oprah.

Why would anyone buy a purse that costs $28,000? I don't care what color she is, she's a materialist piece of trash.

I'm pretty sure when you make that much money, you can afford what you want. Is she any worse than the folks that have gold plated toliets or a watch that goes for $380,000?
