Hello to all VJ'ers thanks for helping me before finally my son is here and we are all very happy and excited. Wife has EAD now and can work, been trying to find a job here in california but most of the jobs require you to have your own car and lisence and we havent been able to get a new car yet due to the k1/k2 bills but soon it is on the list of plans.

Now my question is when do we need to file for the childs forms? because I am worried that it wont be enough on the tax thing since only 1 person is working right now (the petitioner) so the beneficiary is still a dependent...can we get another sponsor even if it is not related to the family?

We have a plan of getting a job, any job as soon as possible and just list that on the tax thing , hopefully it will be enough..but my original question is how long do we have until we can file for the childs status? thank you very much in advance!

There is not a required date to file AOS, so you can wait. Here is a line to the poverty guidelines: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864p.pdf

You wife, whether working or not, is a dependent and you are her listed sponsor UNTIL she has her citizenship or the time requirements have been met, citizenship will happen much faster ;) .
