He only POEd on July 14th. It's going to be 1 - 6 months before his GC shows up.

Did you pay the $165 immigrant fee via the ELIS system? That needs to be done before the GC will be processed and issued (and it does take many weeks).

I am not sure who to call but was wondering if you would mind sharing uour timeline with me for your father inlaw. We applied for my mother inlaw a few months ago and she is in Mumbai. Would love to hear about your journey. Thanks

my wife applied for I-130 for her parents and brother who is over 21. Her mom came to USA on Feb 27th, 2013 on visitor visa. we changed her status here to become PR, because my wife became pregnant and we wanted her to stay back for baby shower. and she got her green card already after a week of her interview which was on July 10th in San Jose, CA. she applied I-130 on May 2012, and was approved in 5 months. I dont exactly remember the timeline, but this is all I know....

If you have paid the $165 immigrant visa fee then your green card should show up within 30 - 60 days of PoE. You are still within that time-frame.

Make an info pass appointment. At least you are one on one.

Why? Serves no purpose - folk chasing after a green card for this visa type must:

1. pay 165 at the ELIS website then

2. wait.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Cool. When you review the ELIS website - what's the status there?
