OK i am in kind of dilemma so pls help me out.

My hubby;s i 130 is approved and we sent his IV & AOS packets Aug 7(delivered).However his current passport which expires in Jan 2014, has his name in kind of incorrectly as

Surname/ Last Name: John Doe ( where John is his actual given name & Doe is family name)

Given Name / First Name: BLANK!!

Now all his NVC docs & the forms address him as FNU, John Doe

I did not correct his passport before we started this process to save time, as you know the petition does take long to process/ approve so i thought i would get it done later.

I had contacted the US Cons here in Qatar and they told me no problems, "when we have your case information provide us with your new passport -old passport we will issue the GC / IV on the new passport name"

Also note, on all I 130 and other forms where it asked for "list any other names used" I mentioned his name as John Doe.

Now when we submitted his BC, PCC etc all have his name as John Doe, however mentioned not like how in US we usually do viz. Last Name, First name (Doe, John). The DS 230 etc all also have his name as FNU, John Doe

I will shortly initiate the name change for his passport which will list his name in the new passport as

Surname: Doe

Given Name: John

Will i need to get new PCC and send this to NVC again? if my case completes and the case file is at consulate here, i think i should be OK as long as i contact the USEM here and update them.

However im just worried IF and only IF any of my AOS or IV docs have an RFE and what if they ask me to resend - i would have a new passport and who knows how much delay i might encounter due to this.

Also, would I need to advise NVC if my husbands passport changes while the IV and AOS docs are being reviewed at NVC? thing is since USEM Qatar mentioned they can update the IV visa after receiving the case here, and since NVC only reviews and does not approve the actual IV visa should i even inform them? i am bit confused

Thanks!
