Hi everybody.

I had F1 visa Dec 2011. It is valid until 2016. But the problem is i went to US in Jan 2012 and came back to my country after 2 weeks, because of my pregnancy. There i didn't have enrolled school yet. I gave birth in my country and now i want to go back to US to continue studying. But not to previous college. I want to go to another university.

Here are my questions:

1. Is my F1 still valid or not?

2. Do i need to apply for a new visa with new i-20?

3. If my visa is still valid can i enter to US with new i-20 of another college?

Help me please.

Thank you

Upon reentry to the US, they will want to see an updated or recently signed I-20, whether it's from your new or old school. Even while you are here and plan on traveling outside the country for a short period of time, they will always want to see that form. It should be signed and dated by the international student coordinator every semester or at least every 6 months. That is your proof that you are still attending college. You need to get that from whatever college you will be attending.

I am not aware that your visa would expire without reason but I honestly don't have much experience with leaving the US for a longer period of time. I would think you should be fine with your current visa but you do need an updated/new I-20 before you reenter.

Hope it helped. Sorry I don't know a more specific answer to all of your question.

Since you left over a year and 8 months ago and you did not attend classes, I am going to assume that your visa and SEVIS status has been terminated.

You'll need a new visa for your new school. Apply and get accepted and then get in touch with the DSO at your new school

good luck
