Dom. Rep. ~ If you Pick up Visa from Domex... How soon is it ready?

Hi All,

I am looking for Dominican Republic past filers or recent filers who have actually picked the Visa up as opposed to waiting for Domex to send it.

I want to know how quickly the Visa is available to be picked up after approval. I have seen some as quickly as 2 days.

Any information is greatly appreciated!!

Our Visa was issued on the 8th of August and Domex received it today and my Fiance went to pick it up. Since he lives in Nagua it was sent to the Domex in Satiago just an fyi.

Awesome!! That's great to hear!! The sooner the better I am almost out of vacation days... lol

Can you tell me how the pickup process works?? He is in El Capital... so we will be in the same city.

So do they send it to a closer office?? If he is in SDO we can just get it there correct? How does the process work?

When you are at the counter to pay the domex fee you can ask them that you would prefer to pick it up they will tell you the nearest location. To your address

That is correct. They sent ours to Santiago since it is close to Nagua. My friend had her man pick it up in the capital cause he lives there.

So does the Embassy call when the Beneficiary when it's ready or do we need to call everyday to check?

I hope I'm not being a pest with nit-picky questions I just want to be super prepared so that nothing is slowed down.

So we visualize the process together every couple of weeks now seeing our appointment being scheduled on the perfect day for a short wait, smooth, fast and easy interview, Visa Approval, getting our green ticket for Domex, two-day Visa pick up, packing, boarding, take-off, landing, smooth, fast and breezy customs entry, boarding next flight to our Hometown and landing, deplane'ing, walking out of the airport together for the first time... deciding who picks us up, where we go have a beer to celebrate.. all of it!!

So I want to say Thank you to each of taking the time to answer me and give me more details... We are sincerely appreciative. It means more than I can adequately express.

Its ok I was the and still am the same way! lol After your interview is done you can check the dos website to see when your visa is issued in can take 4 business days or longer after the appointment. The status the day of your interview will say Administrative Processing and when it is complete it will change to issued. Once it is issued they will send it to Domex which is the mail carrier that ships it. You can check their website with the tracking number they will give you at the interview when you pay them. Their website will say in transito until they receive it and when they do you can call them to let them know not to shop it you will pick it up. I can tell you it can take more than 2 business days after the interview so don't get your hopes to high. You have to wait for the embassy to create the visa and sent it to domex first. Good Luck!
