Hello,

I requested a date extend on my fiance's interview date, but instead the case was put on hold, They told me that I should contact them atleast once a year to let the case still be open. After 6 months I send them a letter requesting to issue an interview letter for my fiance.

I am very disappointed, because my fiance went for an interview last friday, at U.S. embassy of Islamabad, Pakistan. He was denied for the visa, because we haven't seen eachother in 3 years. If this was the reason, than why did they put my case on hold, and told me to contact them once a year to let the case still open ???? I don't understand. They told him that everything is correct in his file, it's just that we haven't met eachother since the 3 years. I 'm being suggested that I should contact the embassy and try not to let them send the case back to the NVC, and try to conveince them that the relationship is true. because once it gets sent back to the NVC than it'll be a long process and it could take upto years. I even e-maild and called the embassy yesturday, but no reply :crying: I'm also being told that I should re apply the case. But how should I do it ?? Anyone in this situation as I am ?Please give me some suggestions...... thanks

She is asking if there are other people who are going through/have gone through an Embassy in Pakistan who has had a similar problem. Vicki/Bala and I are both dealing with returned petitions from India. Anyone from Pakistan?

Yes you were denied for not having proof of meeting within the past two years. It does not mean that you have not met but the stipulation is proof of the last two years. You will now have to go and visit each other, get new proofs of meeting, and get plenty of dated photos. Once you have satisfied this requirement you can refile with a second petition. Islamabad is very strict and follow all instructions to a T and if you are bringing a man he will endure Administrative Review and or Administrative Processing from this embassy and the average time from interview is 6 months or longer.

Good luck and come to the Islamabad forums and you will see others from this embassy that are still waiting to be released on AR/AP or are still in the filing stages of their cases.

My husband got his visa and I still come to try and help others going thru their journeys.

What Is a “Fiancé(e)”? A fiancé(e) is a person who is engaged or contracted to be married. The marriage must be legally possible according to laws of the state in the United States where the marriage will take place.

In general, the two people must have met in person within the past two years. Islamabad no exceptions.

Everything I respond to is from personal knowledge, research or experience and I am in no means a lawyer or do I claim to be one. Everyone should read, research and be responsible for your own journey.

You have done very little to help us understand your situation.

What was the date of your last visit to your fiance?

When did you file the petition?

When was the petition approved?

When did the petition arrive at the Embassy?

These are just basic pieces of information that would help.....

An attorney is still probably your best option...

YMMV
