My wife just had an interview in Islamabad and CO didn't ask too many question and the whole interview took less then few minutes and after the interview she was given the green paper. It seemed as if they had already made up their mind about putting her in administrative processing. She was told that everything is in place and they wont be needing any more documents from her however her case needs to go thru further processing. Is there anythng I can do get her out of this extra processing so she can get the visa soon. One thing I do want to mentioned here is that we have about over 10 yrs age difference but personally i dont think this should be a reason for their decision to put her into an AP.

We had a wedding last year in oct and i filed I-130 in dec and then in late dec I went back to spend new year with my wife. Every single process took it course and seemed normal. She had her interview on Aug 12th 2013. I m thinking about calling Islamabad consulate to speak to CO or contacting my senator/congressman for their assistance. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

**Organizer hat off**

There is nothing you can do to "get her out of this extra processing" and there is nothing your Congressional Representative or Senator can do either. If you elect to contact the Embassy, you would want to do so via their web contact form; however, don't expect anything to come of it. AP will take as long as it takes, it can last from a few weeks to over a year.

just my two cents.

it doesn't matter if you are male or female.. My wife has been in AP for over a year. she is a British National and was raised in England but born in Pakistan... so go figure.

She doesn't wear Hijab either. SHe is as western as they come yet still in AP so none of the stuff matters.

wish you all the best.

Bro, they are doing this to almost 8 out of 10 female applicants. My wife and most other members I know here are going through the exact same thing. It has been a month for me already! But case is still in AP. All you can do is submit an online inquiry to ISL embassy. They don't answer any visa questions over the phone.

What's the CEAC status showing online? Is your spouse from Karachi? Was any time frame given by the CO?

my wife didn't even get a single thing back from them. She even took a copy of everything that we had already sent but they only thing they asked from her was our wedding pic, CO seemed very nice to my wife but still sent her in AP. I sent my wife back to consulate to pick up our original papers but head of security said that we will get all our original doc once they approved and send her passport with all our original papers. I am not sure if this is a normal process for everyone who goes thru AP or does it mean that she be getting her visa in a week or two. I m thinking about hiring an immigration attorney to find out the reason.

Hiring an attorney or contacting elected officials will not get your wife out of AP. It is security checks and they have to be done, no one can do anything about it, and the consulate will not give details as to what or why it is being done. There is nothing you or anyone else can do to expedite the process. At this point the only thing you can do is wait, take it from someone who has been through it.
