OMG! Now THIS! Administrative Processing?

How much more vetting could they possibly need to do? The USCIS and State Dept. now know more about me and Michelle than our own mothers. First, the long wait for NOA2 (including an RFE), then the 8-month DOT saga, then we both show up for the interview ("you're approved"), but NOW they have us in the AP holding pattern. For what? What more could they possibly need to know about us? It has been 14 months since we sent in our I-129. Do I sound frustrated?

When were you interviewed? I was interviewed yesterday and was approved and now my status says Administrative Processing too. I guess most cases undergo this process ;-) Be positive!

Thanks for your prayers!!! I see here that some couples go for weeks and even months in AP with no recourse, no way to get information or status from the embassy...it's like waiting for the NOA2 again :-)

AP is essentially checking that you are not a terrorist nor have links to terrorism. It was instituted after 9/11, and you can thank the PATRIOT Act for introducing it.

they have had 1 year to find out that i am harmless. the patriot act is not to blame. the f*ing terrorists are.

Everyone goes through AP for a short time, its normal as all applications are reviewed a second time before being issued, its SOP.

A little more patience it will happen ~

Is it true that everyone now goes through AP? My fiance's visa was approved last week and he received a green congratulatory letter at the interview with directions to wait a week and then his and his daughter's passports would be returned via DHL. It has now been over a week and they have not received the typical waybill number needed once the visa is ready. We called the Nairobi embassy but they were not helpful, so we checked another website online that told us my fiance's visa was in AP, while his daughter's is ready. (??) Since learning this, I've been reading other experiences with AP, and it seems people are often asked for further documentation during the interview and given a yellow letter that doesn't say approved, but says the case needs more review. This did not happen to us, so we are confused. Furthermore, my fiance is from Uganda and has been sitting with his daughter in Nairobi for two weeks now. The embassy kept their passports (which I have also read does not typically happen during AP, is that true?) so they can't return home as they wait. I'd love to hear more about others' experiences with this. I understand the agony you are feeling and am sending out all my best wishes to all of us who are stuck in this mess.
