Hi everybody,

I badly need ur advice,I did a proxy marriage on 22 march 2012,I filed on 29 may 2012 in this period I did not go back to morocco,but 3 months later I went back home I did ceremony hey moon every thing.last week I received a letter from USCIS saying with need proof that u met ur wife in the first 2 periods the only thing that I have is proofs after may.my job told me that they can write a letter saying that due to hospital rules he can not leave the job because he was under training and that was true.so,should send all the evidences or withdraw and revile again.?

USCIS probably wanted proof that the marriage was consummated, i.e. the husband and wife have met in person at least once since the wedding, but before the I-130 was filed.

No.i did not.i am really scared I heard bad things about proxy marriage.my goal was just to make things done quick.

What did you apply for? A spousal visa? You cannot file for a spouse for a proxy marriage if you didn't meet after. You were only eligible to apply after you had met her again after the proxy marriage, so 3 months later.

If you filed for a spousal petition, you will be denied because you did not have a marriage that was petitionable by USCIS laws. In trying to save time, you wasted all this time, because you will have to cancel this (or get denied) and start over.

Just to make u aware my friends I am still a green card holder.if I refile it again it ganna takes 14 months.?

Yes you will be denied, yes it will not take as long now, as long as the visa bulletin remains current, and no, no one has ever been approved with a non-consummated proxy marriage. There are clear laws about this.

If the marriage was consummated, they will be wanting to see evidence of you and your wife together, in person, on the dates you claim you consummated the marriage. This should be done through boarding passes, passport stamps etc.

Absolutely ! What made the difference for them, was consummation of the marriage prior to filing an I-130.

U know what my friend thank u for making me happy because I was thinking that proxy marriage is illegal in Massachusetts.
