How long, nowadays, will it take our approved case to get to the NVC?

The guide says it takes two weeks after the NOA2 (roughly) for your case to get to the visa center, but I just phoned them and they said 8 weeks. Does anyone have any recent experiences to clarify this timeline a little bit?

I just received notice that our file had been shipped to the NVC which was 3 weeks from the notice that our case had been approved. Good luck.

Oh. But I guess this does not mean that NVC has received the file yet. I sure hope it is not 8 weeks.

How did you receive notice and from whom? I'm waiting also. NAO2 July 22.

I-797 Notice Date: July 24th, 2013

Today I reached NVC by phone, after two emails what have gone unanswered.

After giving the EAC Receipt Number the CS said: "We have no information." I stated "It has been 12 working days since the I-797 indicated that the petition "has been forwarded." The CS stated "Do you have the I-797 in hand" and I said "no." She said: "Call back when you do.

So I found the I-797 and called back, waiting about 35 minutes. The same (I think) CS rep answered and again said: "We have no information."

I stated: "The prior CS rep told me to call back when I had the I-797 in hand" She asked: "What is the Notice date?"

I stated July 24th, 2013. She then stated: "It takes 8 weeks for us to get it."

I stated: "Based upon numerous reports by other K1 applicants the time that it usually takes VSC to receive the petition averages 12 working days." She reiterated: "It takes 8 weeks." I said: "Is this something new, since others say that it generally takes 12 working days?" She stated "All I know is that it takes 8 weeks. Her ID was HRED.

Pathetic. It takes two days to get a 1st class piece of mail either from Texas or Vermont, to the New Hampshire VSC. So clearly the USCIS is lying and it has not been sent yet, or it's been sitting in the VSC now for 10 working days.

I wonder if this is something new?

Suggestions.

Based on the information I'm seeing, the Vermont Service Center seems to be more representative of the 8 week lag, whereas the CSC cases seem to be closer to 2 weeks. This leads me to believe it has less to do with the VSC or mailing time, and more to do with the service center's processing time. This would make sense as it seems like the VSC is hauling ### in terms of approvals and might otherwise be lagging behind?

NOA2 approval on June 20th

Shipped to NVC on August 6

Case number on Aug 12

Thats almost 8 weeks

See? This corroborates my theory a little bit.

We just got approved last week August 7 (from CSC) and I've called about 3 times since but they just tell me they (NVC) hasn't yet received it.

Oh man, I'm hoping ours doesn't take longer than 2 weeks.

R.I.P. NVC.

Since July 27, 177 NOA2's have been approved. The number of those received by NVC is 4, which is 3% of the cases. In June that number would have been around 35%. July numbers dropped like a rock. August numbers don't exist. See my other post for the data.

Is this stat a combination of both VSC & CSC approvals? Or which service center are you referring to?

Hello everyone! I checked our I-130 online on August 8th and it was approved on that day. I still have not received the acutal letter but have a question How do I know if our case goes to CSC or VSC? Do I need to wait for the letter to find out? I have a MSC number and my local office is in Tucson, Arizona. Thank you for your response.

NOA2 on July 9th and nothing since. USCIS is supposed to get back to me by Aug 29th. It seems like others are still getting quick shipping to the NVC and their case #s.. but maybe they're just the few and they're posting about it? It is incredibly frustrating to get stuck at this stage. It's worse than being in the 2nd batch transferred to TSC.

10/23/13 - DoS says our case is still "processing" and not "qualified" (interview ready) and to do newest forms.
11/05/13 - CEAC Update. DoS says case is "eligible for interview" and we're waiting on next interview date.

It shipped! Got notified today, it was shipped Aug 16th. I did email Angela (her email was shared here before) and had an inquiry with USCIS. Not sure if any of those things helped. Thank God it has moved! Whew.
