Oh dear. Is it essential that you sell your house before you leave? Mine is supposed to close on the 18th. Good luck with yours.

Pretty much. I need the money. I might leave after exchange of contracts but because of the AP issues I won't risk leaving before. Right bloody pain. Puts my move back two months I reckon. Wish I lived in Scotland now !

Thought I'd post a quick update, like I posted last week, I (somehow?!) managed to speak to someone at London through the switchboard who helped me GREATLY. Visa interview passed Oct 1st, wasn't issued by 4th so called. (As flights were booked for 9th) the woman found my case which was in a queue to be issued, got it issued thcg same day, and as she couldn't guarantee it would be couriered in time, I was a let collect my passport from the embassy the day before my flight.

I got to the embassy last Tuesday, was surprisingly on the list outside, continued through security and into the building, queued directly at window 14 as told on the phone (without having together a ticket ), she I got to the window and stated I was there to collect my passport, she said 'Oh Matthew is it?', so I knew this was a rare exception!

I was in an out of the embassy in 15 mins, flew the following day via Minneapolis, all fine at POE, just questioned like a Norma visit, and now I'm here in TX with my beautiful wife to be :)
