Recent interviewees - do you have your passport yet??

I have the interview on Tuesday Oct 1st, booked flights today for Oct 9th, as the one seat remaining resulted in a £150 saving. Paid a small fee to be able to cancel the flights close to the date, but fingers crossed we get the visa issued and delivered by then

Hi does anyone know when you get your passport delivered back does it have to be sent to your home address or can you have it sent to your work address, I am just trying to be ahead of the game and juggling holidays with work for medical, interview and now if I will need time off to wait for my passport to be returned.

Is anybody sh*t scared the US government shutdown is going to affect the processing and return of passports? i've had every delay possible short of an RFE during this process, and to now have the return of passports delayed after approval last week would be the icing on the cake.

May I ask a question (rather than starting a whole new thread :/!). My interview is on Wed Oct 23rd but exactly a week later I have two days off (Wed 30th and Thur 31st) for a friend's wedding back in my hometown.

My question is: do the couriers tell you when they are delivering, or can you request from a window of dates available? I know most of us just want this in hand ASAP, but I need to think logistics here! It's really frustrating that I am going to be definitely busy and out of town from my home and work addresses for those two days, gaaahhhh. Wondering if I can set mum up as someone who can take possession of it for me...

Anyone have an opinion/advice? Is the turnaround on average a week...?

Sitting here waiting for the courier...lol. Supposed to be delivered today, at least that is what the email that I got Friday afternoon said. So, I'm sitting here waiting. Every time I hear a car door close I run to the window to see if its here.

DONE! Just paid the immigrant fee so we don't have to worry about another thing except POE, which should be fine. Our next step will be Citizenship for hubby in 2016 since we won't have to do ROC this time around. So happy and relieved!

Congrats! My appt was same day as yours last week. I just got an email with a tracking number telling that that my passport(s) are being picked up by the courier today. That means i can collect tomorrow (a DX depot is only 15 mins away from me)

Am so relieved to have just missed the US goverment shut down, I think thats going to cause delays unfortunately.

Collected my passport from the courier today, so exactly 7 days for me. I'm flying out on Wednesday, but due to the death of a friend we have postponed our wedding for the time being. I hope everyone's interviews go smoothly and good luck xxxxx

Glad you got yours, we were there same day, mine must have sneaked through before yours for some reason.

Guess I can join this thread seeing as DX picked up my passport yesterday to take to the embassy. I hope we are not affected by the government shut down. The embassy are pretty versatile so im sure they should be okay.

Glad to hear you're getting back on track. Hopefully since the visa process is funded by our fees, there shouldn't be too much of an issue there. I have warned my fiance to expect a lengthy delay though at her POE next Tuesday if this isn't cleared up soon. Luckily she doesn't have to worry about catching a connecting flight
