Missouri Fair clown draws criticism for Obama mask

About a month ago, we went to the resturant depo to get supplies. My wife's spring roll and fried rice sale is making some progress and Sam's club doesn't have what she needs. My mom has a membership so she took us and we used her card to get in. This was hot with the TM/GZ story so I asked her does she think racism is still prelevant in our society. She told me a story about a doctor friend who just went to court over discrimination at his job. He was the top doctor at his hospital, the only person of color there. He went up for promotion, and was skipped over by a white doctor with less seniority and less credentials. When he went to file an inquiry about this, he was fired from his job citing poor work ethics. He retained a lawyer and took this to court. Once there, his hospital cited he was counseled twice about his poor work performance. When his lawyer asked to provide the documentation proving this, they couldn't find the paperwork. His lawyer brought every single counseling sheet, every letter of commendation, covering from the beginning of his tenure until he was fired. His record was spotless. There wasn't a single complaint in his file. They were forced to pay his fees and gave him a hefty sum of money plus offered his job back. He didn't take it of course, he told my mom that he did this because he wasn't going to let them destroy his name at the new hospital where he worked.

If the facts are you presented them, you made a case that someone was treated unfairly, you gave no evidence at all that it was based on race...... or are we to assume simply the presence of race must be the cause?

It is not common that White people too get shafted for advancement too>?

Actually I did. When the white doctor was chosen over him, he filed an inquiry asking why. If the doctor had a valid reason for being picked, why not just say that? Why would you get fired for filing an official inquiry and then be told it because of two poor evaluations that didn't exist? When my wife was overlooked for a permanent position at her job, she filed one to ask why. She wasn't fired, she was told the woman they picked had seniority over her. Simple as that.

How would the crowd have reacted if the rodeo clown wore a Hillary Clinton mask? My guess is much the same way they reacted to the Obama mask. That's not to say there weren't racists in the crowd. Rodeos are a rural activity generally. Rural equals republican generally. I think there's just as much disdain for Hillary on the right as there is for Obama.

I followed your premise that the man was poorly treated or so it would seem but this same type of conflict happens all the time to people of all colors.

SOmetimes it is a personal conflict, or perhaps a personal desire to promote the less qualified candidate.

Me bumping a friend ahead of the promotion line does not mean that I used race to displace the person who should have been advanced.

And again this happens all the time, I have seen it where all parties were the same color so why just "knee-jerk" it, into the category of RACE DISCRIMINATION?

LEt me further add, lets suppose the Black man who pursued this case was in fact, a qualified individual on paper yet it was roundly observed he was not liked or respected by his co-workers. Yet he prevailed because he used the race angle, what is the after-taste of all those in the organization towards this guy and the means by which he prevailed .... the system where one need no proof race was the issue only the accusation.

These cases can help create a hiring environment where African Americans come with a greater risk.

Again I am only surmising, it could be the man was genuinely robed due to race, I just have not seen evidence of it.

What evidence do you need? Let's look at it. If they wanted to promote someone for personal reasons over a person that's more qualified, what do you call that? Plus, they could have just made up a reason instead of firing him.

If he was so despised at the workplace, where is the complaint trail? He had tons or LOR's and his evals were stellar. This might have been a case of simple discrimination, but what do you need for it to be race based? A noose hung somewhere, the N-word, the KKK at the company picnic?

A New York hotel kicked out one of the stars of “Duck Dynasty” after an employee thought he was a homeless man.

Appearing along with his family on “Live with Kelly and Michael” Wednesday morning, Jase Robertson described the incident.

“The first thing that happened to me at the hotel was I got escorted out,” Robertson said, joking that it was a “facial-profiling deal.”

Robertson continued, “So I circled back around and my wife said, ‘What happened?’ and I just said I just got kicked out.”

Robertson took it in stride and didn’t blame the employee for the incident. Robertson continued to stay at the hotel despite the incident.

Mesquite Rodeo promotes appearance by an Obama clown

The Mesquite Rodeo isn't shying from controversy this weekend by promoting the appearance of a rodeo clown wearing a mask of Barack Obama.

A similar appearance of a clown wearing an Obama mask at a Missouri State Fair rodeo with an announcer asking the crowd if people wanted to see "Obama run down by a bull" made national news earlier in August.

The performance got that rodeo clown fired and banned from the fair. It also triggered the resignation of the Missouri Rodeo Cowboy Association president.

In a post on its Facebook page, the Mesquite Rodeo said it has it "on good authority that the Obama Clown and other Presidential clowns will be making an appearance."

This weekend marks the conclusion of the rodeo season at the Mesquite Rodeo.
