KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — A clown wearing a President Barack Obama mask appeared at a Missouri State Fair rodeo this weekend and the announcer asked the enthusiastic spectators if they wanted to see "Obama run down by a bull."

The antics led the state's second highest-ranking official, Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder, to denounce the performance in a tweet Sunday. He said it was "disrespectful" to the president.

"We are better than this," the Republican tweeted.

There was no outrage because it was not a political statement. They used whatever fake heads they had. One happened to look like him. And HBO made sure it was later altered so there was no resemblance.

Yawn.

Plenty of things were thrown Bush's way that were inappropriate. This was not one of them.

That's the point I was trying to make with lost. Last time I checked, the clown's job is to distract the bull from the rider when he's thrown off. If he wore an Obama mask and ran out there, I'll wager this wouldn't have raised an eyebrow. But the fact that the announcer made it clear that they wanted to see Obama mauled, therein lies the rub.

I don't think its right (mocking a sitting president in such a manor) but what I see being done to the current president does not come close to the level of what was done to the last president - there will always be the fringe stupidity on both sides, but I am talking about the sheer scale - and there was something close to zero on the left that saw any issue with it.

I would say to those finding an issue here the same thing I said to those upset about some of the treatment of Bush: Remember this and when you are on on the other side of the argument be the better person.

If you need to feel it is bi-partisan go back and read the absolute slime that was posted here in the months leading to the last election.

He isn't picked on more because he's black. He's picked on pretty much the same amount as any other President in recent history. His race is just something that's used against him when it comes to the mud slinging. Just like Bush's intelligence.

I have no problem with people disliking Obama. He gives people plenty of reason to.

I wish everyone voiced that dislike in an intelligent way rather than a "go back to Kenya, muslim" way.
