But wouldn't they just tell me that when I called?

In my opinion it was probably the logging of your medical,if you hadn't already had an update for that as it only takes them around 4-5 days after the medical to log it

They should do yes but a few people myself included have been having issues with dos and ceac update s so I'm starting to wonder if their information they are giving us over the phone is accurate.your time line does fit the time of a medical being logged.it's just my opinion though

I had my medical 8th August and sent my forms off on the same day and I'm still waiting for a interview date.some people on the same time line as me have already been giving their interview date,so I think it depends on luck.the embassy say it can take approx four weeks from sending your forms to get assigned a interview date.

Yes the embassy closed on Monday.keep us updated if you have any more updates :)

I have changed our plans and am going to go with the date I've been given. We're in the U.S. now so my kids could start school (they started last week) and they'll already have to miss a couple weeks to come back and have the interview and wait for our passports back, I can't really let them miss more school than that in the hopes of getting a cancellation or next day appt which might not happen. I'm just grateful to have an interview scheduled at this point and on the positive side it gives me more time here to try and plan a wedding (On the beach in Florida!) for mid-Oct now.

We have been caught every step of the way by delays, with case being transferred, (202 day wait for approval between NO1 and NO2!!!) payments and courier system changeover in London at the end of July, and the summer visa crush, I would just like one thing to go our way as its cost us thousands of pounds in additional airfares and other things and I'm thoroughly fed up.

Ok I got given an interview date of sept 24 as i said above and they did answer my query via the contact form on the Embassy website a day later and bought my date forward to Sept 13.

Unfortunately I'd already changed my travel plans for sept 24th after assuming there were no earlier dates available and because it actually worked better for travel in terms of time off school for my kids. So I was able to reply to the email from them them, changing it back to the original date I'd been given to the 24th. End of really. But shows that they did try to accommodate me, which was nice.

I can't believe they got back to you so quickly! I've sent literally five emails and not heard a word. It makes me so cross that there's nobody to call! The thirteenth would have been perfect for us

Please don't take this at all patronisingly - but have you checked your spam? I say this, because my interaction with the embassy via email sometimes disappeared into my spam folder and I missed an important email for days.

Oh, let me clarify, I wrote to them via the contact form on thurs 22 Aug. I heard back on Friday 30 August, so it took them 5 business days to respond. In between that time they scheduled me for the 24th before picking up the msg and rescheduled it to the 13th in response to my msg.

Don't know why you haven't heard from them, they do seem to be responding albeit only withing their stated number of business days for doing so. (5 days for original query, 3 days to respond to my reply to their email when I asked to reschedule back to the original date)

So, I just called the Embassy at the non-immigrant number. The guy tried to give me a load of baloney about emailing the WEEAC address, which I'd previously done, only to be told that that department does not deal with these requests. Then he tried to direct me to the consular contact form on the website, when I told him that I'd sent messages over two weeks ago and heard nothing.

He then put me on hold to speak to someone, then returned and told me that, since I hadn't heard anything, I needed to accept the initial date (September 23rd) as my interview date. He then told me that if I had a problem with that I had to contact the consular section in the contact form. He also stated that K-1 visas are not expedited. I tried to get some more information out of him about this, and when I asked him if this was a newly-implemented measure (thinking about all the recent changes at the embassy) he hung up on me!

I'm so furious. Not only does this mean that, given my interview date and the 10+ working day wait for the visa courier, I'm looking at flying out literally the day before my wedding at the earliest (that's if I book my ticket the day the visa arrives), but also that the 23rd is the only date my GP can give me the last 2 vaccines I need for AOS.

Please don't take this at all patronisingly - but have you checked your spam? I say this, because my interaction with the embassy via email sometimes disappeared into my spam folder and I missed an important email for days.

I had the same thought! I keep checking the spam and junk folders but nothing :(

I know what you mean.. its just tough when family are breathing down your neck trying to get certainties out of you! I really dont want to disappoint anyone.

Out of interest, do you know what kind of average time people are waiting for their visa delivery? We opted to have it delivered to the south london depot because we can drive there in an hour instead of waiting extra days for delivery.
