CNN's Don Lemon on Saturday addressed critics of his five suggestions for the African-American community, which created a firestorm of controversy when he presented them two weeks ago. The points, which align closely with Fox News host Bill O'Reilly's assessment of the black community, prompted hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons to write several blistering tweets and an open letter to Lemon.

But the intense scrutiny has not caused Lemon to back down. He revisited the issue on Saturday, reframing his comments in the context of black leaders, including President Barack Obama, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X, instead of highlighting his agreement with O'Reilly, according to Mediaite.

“Hate is too great a burden to bear. It injures the hater more than it injures the hated.” – Coretta Scott King

"Oppressive language does more than represent violence; it is violence; does more than represent the limits of knowledge; it limits knowledge." -Toni Morrison

He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it.

As soon as alot of people hear BIll O'Reilly, they stop listening to whatever comes after that. It's too bad the guy is such a conceited pr!ck, because he does have some valid points.

That's what he was talking about. I can't stand BOR, but if his points align with the message it can still be valid.

Don Lemon is a twisted old **. Probably doing what his white bf is telling him to do.

I'd expect this from certain members of this forum, but not you.

Yeah the O'Reilly factor could be a decent show, if it had less Bill O'Reilly.

I think that was meant to be funny. Have to admit I laughed at it.

But seriously , you don't acknowledge Don is gay and has a white bf? I have seen them at several clubs. Get real!

My cousin is the same way, brought a white guy home with him to meet my Pastor grandfather and grandmother. Let's just say it was an interesting day.

I figured you might be joking, I was hoping that was the case.
