ds 156 question on denied/refused entry to US

Hi,can you please help me answer one of the DS 156 questions about "have you ever been denied of visa,... refused entry to US?

I was in US through tourist visa to meet my fiance ... at the US port of entry, I was issued I-94 and the date of my stay in US was written on it. . after that I-94, I was held at the custom's office for hours for interrogation about my passport/visa since it was detatched from the cover. i did not how it was it detatched but it happened at the aiport in my country while in the checking in process. there were a lot of people who got hold of my passport/visa and I can't figure out who detatched it... so the custom officer CANCELLED my tourist visa and by God's grace, he filled up a paper for me, let me sign on it and it's I-193. my fiance paid the USD 585 application fee and so I was out from the custom and proceeded to check in for my next flight and met my fiance. my question is,: was i denied/refused entry to US? what should be my anser to that question on DS156. any help is higly appreciated. thank you very much.

No, you were not denied entry. Being denied means you were never allowed to enter.
