It should be on its way. Just be patient.

Meanwhile your endorsed I-551 visa on your passport is as good as the greencard itself. You don't need to put your life on hold for want of the plastic card.

Yes, it is frustrating...

you don't need the green card to apply for and accept jobs. The stamp in your passport serves as a temp green card for up to a year. The green card itself can take anywhere from 1-6 months to receive, and USCIS will tell you(we were told at biometrics)that it could take up to a year to receive, even though it doesn't take nearly that long. My husband got his in 7 weeks.

What does your status on the ELIS system say?

Do you have your SSN?

Keep waiting then. When it switches to "optimized" it normally only has a week or two before it's closed and the card is produced. You can keep trying to check the receipt number on the USCIS site as well, some people have had luck that way.

it saying processing and yes i do have my SSN

Then you can work today. There's a stamp in yer passport that endorsed the VISA to be used as a temporary I-551 document, a temporary, 1 year green card.

Check it out ! Reread what's in yer passport, nowish?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
