Hi dear users.

I filed my I-130 petition for alien relative- my husband in January 2013. The USCIS received the application on Jan. 7th and mailed out the i-797 with my case number on it. It has been 8 months and the USCIS has not sent the approval notification, yet. Even though the NVC seemed more slow in giving visa numbers, the F2A category is on "current." My question is how longer should I wait for the approval notice?

If the NVC retrogresses to the previous dates, what happens to the ones who were once able to get a visa number but still were not approved by the USCIS?

Thank you.

Visa numbers will only be available once you are approved by USCIS.. and the you can start the NVC process..

And when the VB retrogresses, even if the case is completed at NVC, we still need to wait for our PD to become current.. kicking.gif

Hey Marione05,

I received a request for evidence and mailed back the response. On September 30th, the received my response documents and told me that I should get a decision or update whithin 60 days of this date. This is the quoted message from them. " You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use the processing time information on our website to estimate when this case will be done."

Did you get the same message from them? What do they mean by fingerprint processing or interviews? Do I have to take them or my husband does, or none of us will have them?

Thanks dear.

Hi! Yup we had the same notification. I think 60 days is their maximum for this process. But we always hope for a faster response!

We ignored the fingerprint and interview part coz I think it doesn't apply to our case. Hehe. ;)

Good luck! It will be approved soon! :D
