Hello,

I think I may have worded my question in a confusing way before..

My fiancé and I received our NOA2 and are now working on the affidavit of support form I-134.

Because I do not meet income requirements to be my fiancé's sponsor, my dad agreed to sponsor him and fill out the affidavit of support I-134.

In addition to my dad filling out the I-134, do I, as the petitioner, also need to fill out the I-134 and supply supporting materials such as bank statements?

Also, my dad is providing his most recent tax returns, two recent pay stubs, bank statements and a letter from his employer detailing his position and earnings. Does he need to provide anything else to supplement the I-134?

Thank you very much for your help!

This is a London answer. They want a sponsor. If you can't qualify, then they are happy to accept only Dad's I-134 and evidence, Any two of those things listed are okay. They don't have a mandatory list as long as he shows his income. Only one tax return is enough if you use a tax return as a proof. If you bring more years, they will hand them back before the interviewer even sees them. Nothing else is needed from your Dad. If your fiance had some sizeable cash assets, he could prove that and they would approve with no I-134.

It is the I-864 for your adjustment of status that has some specific rules and requires you to do a form, even with zero income. And your Dad must show his citizenship with a birth certificate or US passport. I-134 for London is quite flexible.

So only my fiancée's dad and not my fiancée need fill an I-34? And it sounds like he's set to prove his income (in fact it might be overkill) with the documents he's submitting?

Correct. Here's someone with a joint sponsor. Read her comment about the I-134. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/350185-london-2012-k1s-from-noa2-to-interview-thread/?p=5567415

And read her London interview review here in her timeline and what she says about the I-134 http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=120177

the petitioner will also need to submit the I-134.

Not for an interview in London. Edited by Nich-Nick

I purposely started the post with bold. I thought that looked specific.

"This is a London answer. They want a sponsor. If you can't qualify, then they are happy to accept only Dad's I-134 and....."

It's a K1 thing. The visas like yours will still require an I-864 from the spouse and the joint sponsor in London because the I-864 has many more requirements that are set by law.

I read it differently than you meant it, that's all. Not sure why you're upset when I was the one who misunderstood what you wrote and admitted as such? I apologize profusely.

No, I'm not upset. I was trying to clarify in case I wasn't clear enough for others who read it. Sorry.
