Hi, we filed our 129f in the dallas office. I guess because of backlog, it was sent to the vermont center for processing, got our NOA1 no problem on june 10. We just got an update on 8 august 2013 that our file was sent to our "local" office that has jurisdiction. As far as I can tell, Texas isnt processing any k1's and it does not pop up on the drop down menu when checking processing times. Is it going to CSC or Dallas? Or do I need to call the uscis? Or should I not worry and go with the flow and hope to hear something from them?

Browse the forum. Vermont is no longer processing k1 applications due to backlog. All new k1 petitions get sent to TSC now.

Dallas isn't a service center to process k1's. it's simply the first step where they forward the documents to the right place and it's perfectly normal that it got transferred to Vermont.

Since they just started processing k1 petitions in Texas in may this year there is no timeline online that you could follow. You can search TSC and k1 and find many people in the same situation.

I wish you the best of luck!

Usually not. We got transferred to Texas on June 21st and had approval on August 2nd. Plus an RFE on the way. We been at Vermont for almost 5 months before we got transferred, just waiting. But once your at Texas your case is being worked on.

I would assume tho, since your noa1 wasn't too long ago and sent straight to Texas, Vermont most likely didn't do much on your case yet.

See it as a positive thing, your moving forwards now!

Yes but you should still prepare yourself for some waiting time. Your roughly at 2 months and the petition usually takes about 5-6 months to be approved. Transfer or not. Be happy if your one of the rare cases that gets approved in as little as 80 days (just saw a thread yesterday) but its definitely not the majority.

Prepare for the worse, hope for the best ;)

Workload Transfer for Various Forms

USCIS recently began transferring some casework within the service centers to balance workload processing capacity. The affected casework includes the following forms:

USCIS Form Transfer of Workload I-129F, Petition for Alien Fiancé(e) Vermont Service Center (VSC) to Texas Service Center (TSC) I-130, Petition for Alien Relative (F2A category for spouses and children of permanent residents) VSC to Nebraska Service Center (NSC) I-821D, Consideration of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (with accompanying Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization) VSC to NSC I-751, Petition to Remove the Conditions on Residence VSC to California Service Center (CSC) Effect on Customers

If your case was transferred, USCIS will send you a notice listing the transfer date and where your case will be processed. Your original receipt number will not change. You should reference your original receipt number and indicate your case was transferred to a new location when making any case status inquiries.

If you have filed one of the affected form types and you receive a request for evidence or any other type of communication from USCIS, please read the notice carefully to ensure that you respond to the same service center that sent you the notice.

Redirecting Form I-129F

Starting the week of July 29, 2013, USCIS began redirecting all newly filed Forms I-129F from the VSC to the TSC. The receipt notice will bear a TSC receipt number beginning with “SRC”. The case will be processed by the TSC. The CSC will continue receiving Forms I-129F.

USCIS will post additional Web updates to inform customers of any future workload realig

In Arizona its hot hot hot.
