Had our interview on June 21st 2013. Interviewer did not make any decision on the spot. He did state over and over that we can expect to hear from him in 2-3 weeks !! It's been 1 month & 21 days and no word from USCIS. We moved on the last day of July and used the online change of address form. We received the change of address notice by text and email on Tuesday. The processing time in my local office for a I-485 is December 23rd of 2012, I just can't imagine that the local office in "Cleveland" would be that busy !! My confirmation date for when they received my AOS packet is April 10th. What can possibly be taking this long ? No matter how they feel about us they should at least mail something right ?! We're so tired of waiting because this process has cost us sooo much financially & otherwise. Calling USCIS customer service has proven useless too. Our whole life is on hold and its rather frustrating ....

Jesse (j/k), here's what you can do:

1) Schedule an InfoPass appointment - that's your best bet

2) Also, reach out to local congressman and senators for their help. They concern themselves (i.e. their office) with issues like this and have someone follow up. This usually speeds up the case. However, between writing an email to them and having them contact USCIS may take at least 2-3 weeks.

I recommend you pursue both paths in parallel to best help your chances. Good luck!

i NEVER HEARD OF AN INTERVIEW WHERE A DECISION WAS NOT GIVING ON THE SPOT. VERY STRANGE. DONT KNOW WHAT TO TELL YOU BUT GOOD LUCK

This is actually a very common occurrence.

PS: Using upper case translates to screaming, so you may want to reconsider that for your future posts.

Hello! I was in the same position as you and didn't hear anything for several weeks. I scheduled an infopass appt for a Monday and I got notification of approval the friday prior. So I would suggest making an infopass appt and hope for the best. All the best to you!

I totally agree with you... How can the Cleveland office be that busy? My Noa date is for June 12, 2013 for my I-485 but my interview is scheduled for September 3, 2013 so I think that the online times aren't that accurate.

well you are not the only one. i did my interview 33days ago and nothing has been said since that time. i went for an infopass at the houston office and nothing came out of it, the lady just told me my IO has not approved my application yet and that i should wait another month which is daunting. I think i might be tempted to contact my congress man.
