Tickets to the USA

It depends on the airline and where you buy the ticket. My wife had to show copy of credit card and my authorization for the ticket with Cathy Pacific and Philippine Airlines even on domestic flight, bought straight from the airlines, this was after we were married and she was U S citizen, but her name was not on that card. However, I bought a one way ticket from BT store for her mother to come here on Philippine Airlines and she didn't have to show anything but the ticket. Just check with where you buy the ticket and they will let you know for sure.

Well then that would make it AA related, as I had no such issue using Hawaiian airlines and I know of a number of others that have purchased one-way tickets for their fiancées without issue also. IF it were a law all airlines would have to observe it.

Interesting Hank. Thanks for the info.

I had my ticket bought by my cousin, the airline requirments were a photocopy of the credit card holder (front and back) and passport biographic page and then sign each page. It worked for me.

So I am also going to ask my fiance the same thing when he buys my airline ticket. However it is better to ask the airline itself just to make sure.

What if you purchase a round-trip and just dont use it? Seems very little difference in cost right now.

Not for December flights. There is a $500 difference I notice. So I will definitely be getting her a one way ticket. Or having her get one, whichever is cheaper in that regard.

Another option is just to get her a card to pay it with. Be it a prepaid card, visa gift card, or authorized user card linked to your account, it would solve the problem of requiring to see the card upon departure while not requiring her to travel to purchase the ticket in person.

If Remember correctly we paid about 800 bucks one way Cebu to Atl and round trip was about 1400... I will try to scare up the name of the agent who helped her, but she saved us a lot of dough

When I was trying to check Korean Air it said something about due to Philippine law I couldn't purchase a ticket originating from the Philippines. It wouldn't even let me look at the flights.

But, it seems there is no issue with Delta.

I tried to use the booking company that my company uses for corporate travel (they will do employee personal travel), but they said they could only book it on a round trip due to company policy for Visa holders.

I'm planning to buy her ticket on the 15th, so hopefully it will work from Delta.com.

Wow. I wish I could find a flight to ATL for $800. Cheapest I can find is $1300, but that is for 1 stop only (MNL-NRT-ATL). The multiple stops (MNL-NRT-DTW/JFK/SEA-ATL) are a little cheaper.

You should be able to book KA out of the PI for around 800-900. Prices should start easing a lot in the next few weeks

KAL won't let me book a ticket. I can't even search for available tickets originating from the Philippines. Their search only lets me see flights from the USA.
