Sponsor to act as lawyer form

I don't have my immigration helpbook with me at the moment, and I was wondering about one process...

There is a form, which I believe, that is sent to the beneficiary (my husband), which he/she would

sign stating the sponsor (me) would act as their lawyer (or something like that). This way, all documents sent to him would also be sent to me. Since my husband's English isn't very good, I want to monitor what forms are being sent to him in the packet from consulate (when the time comes).

What is this form? When will it be sent to him? And who will send it to him?

Will a copy also be sent to me? Also, once it arrives... I will want to complete it, send it to my husband to sign... would he need to send it from his country or should he send it back to me, and then I would mail it for him? I am worried he may send it to the wrong address, since his English isn't good.

Thanks,

Dayna

I'm guessing you're referring to the choice of agent form the NVC sends to your spouse once they receive your approved I-130 from the USCIS. Your husband can choose you to be his agent and the rest of the forms and info will come to you.

To the best of my knowledge , in the case of the I-129F, since the NVC doesn't hold that petition long enough they will not send you anything to fill out. When the packet arrives from the embassy your husband will need to fill out various forms. If you're concerned about his ability to fill the forms properly , Ive read where people have filled in " practice forms " and sent them along to their foreign spouse ( or used them for themselves to go off of) to use as a guide. I think another option , as long as your particular embassy isnt too picky , you could fill out the forms yourself and forward it to him to sign and send in with his checklist.

Hope this is what you were looking for.......good luck!

Dayna,

I suspect, as CutienPurg does, that you are thinking of the form DS-3032 choice of address and agent form. You will be sent one of these by the NVC when the NVC receives your I-130 petition approved by the USCIS.

But, if your I-129f petition is approved first, the USCIS will not be sending your I-130 petition to the NVC. And the NVC does not send out DS-3032 for K-visa cases.
