Its interesting that you mentioned Kansas, our NOA1 hard copy came from an address in Kansas. Could it be the new office is already sending out NOA's or maybe just a coincidence?

Everything after May 2013 has been sent to Kansas, no, they wont start working on any I-130s until the end of the fiscal year which is 30th of Sep. The thing is March and April filers are not getting any NOA2s either.

Whats the scary part, is that if all stand alone I-130s from March 2013 are at Overland Park in Kansas waiting for it to open, we are talking about a backlog of petitions that could very well be in the hundreds of thousands.

Which brings questions to mind... how many employees will Division 8 be staffed with? Will any of them have any experience? Or if they are just freshly trained, how slow will they give out approvals to avoid stuff ups? (As we all know, speed comes with experience)

And lastly, are they really going to approve petitions by order of NOA1s or are they just going to start working on the ones that are just coming in.

We've seen this happen before, its happening at CSC with K1 filers right now. There are people waiting for months for NOA2s and all of a sudden VJ has been flooded with approvals that are as sort as 19 days from NOA1 to NOA2.

I don't think they were sending petitions to Overland Park in March. Otherwise it would've shown in the official statistics (if we're operating under the assumption that petitions get transferred within 2 month in average). Last statistics available are for June'13 and there is no mention of Overland Park getting any petitions (which then would probably mean petitions from two months earlier, April). And from what i've seen here people report getting their NOA1s from there. I don't recall people from March mentioning that.

When i search for NOA1 Overland Park in VJ i the first person i see mentioning it is a May filer.

I'm the beneficiary.

So on the USCIS website it says that my case was filed August 29, however I got my NOA1 email today Sept 4.

I'll wait until I see the date on the hard copy to figure out which date to put on my timeline for sure.

Eitherway I wanna stick with August guys :P

Oh and it says USCIS National Benefits Center but again I will wait to see if the address on the letter shows Kansas. Here's hoping that's a good thing.

Always double check your documents and forms. Not only do you get delayed by RFEs and Checklists, but the time it takes for them to review the new items you send could be used to approve more applications. Save yourself and others valuable time!

Current Status: NVC:
-Assigned and Received NVC Case Number, IIN, and BIN April 18, 2014. (100% sure case # was assigned today because I called twice and it wasn't assigned in the morning when they opened but in the afternoon it was)
*Could not provide email then as case was still being updated in their system
-On April 21, 2014 I was able to provide my email and beneficiary's.
-On April 28 I was able to fill out DS-261
-On April 29 I received and paid AOS Fee (at 1pm)
-On May 1 I received and paid IV Fee (at 1pm [became available]), also AOS Fee shows as PAID
-On May 5 IV Fee shows as PAID and DS-260 became available and was completed. Also, AOS Package Scanned by NVC

-On May 7 IV Package Scanned by NVC

-On May 28 AOS Accepted

-On June 2 IV Accepted/Case Complete

-On June 11 Interview Email Received

-On July 3 Interview at Moscow

Note: Medical Exam scheduled after interview letter received by calling the specific clinic, earliest appointment was 2 weeks ahead)

-Visa approved, came to us, got greencard, sadly things didnt go well and divorced. Last I hears she was still in the US and got a full greencard (I notified USCIS of divorce though)

The above article was written November 2012. NBC stated in May 2013 that end of FY2013 (i.e., September 30, 2013) is the start up for Kansas to process the I-130.

try and look up your case on the USCIS website. If you sent it on the 29th, your PD is probably September. Whatever date they log it in is your PD. My lawyer sent mine Fedex on April 10th and it was received April 12th. I never got an email or text even though I am signed up for both.

NBC is Missouri and Kansas. Look at the address at the bottom of your NOA1. It will tell you where you file went to. My PD is April 12th. My file is in Missouri. I think they started the Kansas addresses in May. I could be off a little though.

Hi, everybody!

I've been reading the forum for a while and this thread too, but now have time to write here ))

We sent our petition at the end of July and USCIS got it on August 5th.

Got our NOA1 on August 7th in the e-mail. And we got hard copy much later – only on August 23rd as we filed from Russia (we both live here for now until I get my visa).

I am a May filer and the address on the bottom right of my NOA1 states Overland Park, KS. If you read the May 2013 Filers thread everyone who posted reported that their NOA1 states the same location. So I think B & G is right with his assessment.

Okay I got my NOA1 Hard Copy letter and it says they received it on August 29th (which is the same date that USPS delivered the package) and they put that the Notice date is : August 30, 2013

Priority Date is listed as August 29, 2013 in letter so I guess I am part of the August club tongue.png

Thank you for clarifying where to check LoveMyTico smile.png

Anyway my envelope and letter also says it came from Kansas.

By the way in regards to Timeline, there is no option for putting Kansas as the Service Center where I filed. So what should I put?

PS: When I became a US citizen some years ago I remember all the letters from US government were sent on that nice paper with like cool background and all. This came in like regular paper. Why did they change? Budget cuts? was kind of excited to show the wife a cool letter to get her excited since I assumed it would be like in the past :\

Eitherway, not complaining :P I'd rather they hire more workers and send stuff in recycled paper and finish faster than send it slower in a gold paper

Yeah, i also think that's this one - since it's a branch of the big thing (but not a field office). I think VJ should add this to the picklist though, for statistics sake.
