Another disappointing day I suppose

USCIS:

I-130 RECEIVED: 8/2/13

I-129f RECEIVED: 8/21/13

I-130 & I-129f: TRANSFERRED TO CSC 2/7/14

I-130 & I-129f: APPROVED 2/20/14

NVC:

3/4/14: NVC Case Received

3/7/14: Email that case number and IIN assigned, DS 261 and AOS fee available to pay

3/14/14: JUST seen the email because I wasn't expecting it so soon. Paid AOS FEE & filed ds 261

3/21/14: AOS paid, cover sheet printed

4/28/14: AOS sent

4/28/14: IV paid

5/5/14: IV submitted

in the process of sending civil docs for IV package...thennnnnn...dun dun...NOOOO checklist i hope! lol

They were supposed to hire more people since april 2013 to staff Division 8 at Overland Park, that was supposed to be operational at the end of Sep 2013. That didn't happen.. and it isnt likely to happen..

Im leaving in a week and a half to visit my husband in the US for 12 days. I will probably come back and still be waiting to see a transfer!!

What prompted you to make a statement "and it isn't likely to happen"

Any official document / public disclosure by USCIS?

Can you please authenticate this bad news

The FOIA documents seem to suggest they've been trying to fill the positions at Overland Park since at or before August 2012 if I remember correctly.

The FOIA documents seem to suggest they've been trying to fill the positions at Overland Park since at or before August 2012 if I remember correctly.

Some are saying their no activity in the area and its empty I searched and found a thread dated October and it just had a Govt. trespassing sign.

Just prepare yourself for a 9 month wait, for me thats May, anything before I will be mega happy with. Its only January so don't start kicking yourself now :)

NOA1...........................August 30th, 2013

NOA2...........................April 15th, 2014

uscis sent my case......April 21th

NVC got my case.........May 2nd

Case Number & INN.....May 27th

DS261 Completed.......June 4th

AOS fee paid.............. June 5th

AOS pack sent............June7th

AOS pack scanned.....June13th

IV pack resent.............July 18th (we sent it one week after aos pack but mail retorned to my husband office)

IV pack scanned.........July 21th

IV fee paid...................July 23th

There is no official disclosure from USCIS or any public announcement made. It is the reason why I said "it isn't likely to happen". But do you honestly think that Division 8 will open up in time for August filers to be adjusticated?

Or if there was any plan of Division 8 opening any time soon, then why is USCIS sending files to Nebraska Service Centre since October 2013?

I agree. I dont think we will see a 6 month approval, though I don't think will be 9 months either, more closer to 8 months. But as you said, get accustommed to 9 months and anything earlier than that will be a very nice surprise!

The thing is i wish we just had a def time limit so we know our cases arent stuck in a backroom some place in alaska
