You can call the senators office whenever you want. Tell them you have a pending I-130 and you want them to do an inquiry. They will send you a release form to sign and scan or fax back. As soon as they get that from you , they will do an inquiry. No, you don't have to be out of the processing times to inquire. August filers have only been waiting for 4 months. you'll probably get the usual response they send to everyone..." current processing times are 6 months from the date of this notice" but at least they know your asking LOL

I wrote my congress woman about a week ago. No response yet as expected. I just explained to her from beginning to now. And told her how uscis says my case is not there anymore. Santo Domingo says my case is not there yet. And nvc has yet to respond to me at all. Did my case grow legs and runaway?? So hopefully I get some kind of response soon. Because the right hand doesnt know what the left is doing.

Lord I hope youre right. I think this away from each other nonsense is really wearing on my family. Probably all of our families. Im sure being pregnant and my hormones don't help. But SOMETHING has to give!

Yeaaa thats not good at all, i know as yesterday they were transferring july 15th because my cousin sent her i130 july 15th and yesterday i checked online and it said that her case is being transfer so if they keep this pace we won't be able to wait longer than few weeks. i really hope they do and get everyone together with their family and the love ones lol because it reaalllllly really sucks not being together... :P

I so hope something happens soon! Hubby flies out tomorrow (assuming these winter storms don't delay him again) and we don't know when we will meet again in 2014! :( its been so so amazing to have him for this short time and we both can't wait for him to be here permanently!

I havent seen him since Oct. And now i have no idea when I will. I cant afford to go twice within a close proximity. So going now or febrero isnt an option. Like, say I bought a flight now for Feb, and they send my cita for march. Id be outta luck without the money to buy another ticket. Plus, putting money away (or lack of) for maternity leave cuz I can't work after hes born. And obviously I wont have him here for monetary support. And the salaries in DR arent exactly sufficient for two households. Pffft..barely one!

If I may ask, how long did it take your congressman to respond to you? I emailed her a week or two ago. Hoping now that the holidays are over I hear from her.

It took two weeks and what would be a good idea is sending them a hard copy of your email. A copy of your I-130 and a copy of your id that's what they are gonna ask for they'll do a inquiry for you which is useless but if you don't have a valid reason to speed it up all they'll do is a inquiry which will give u a stagnant answer. I feel what your going through I went in August and these trips are to darn expensive I miss him but I worry so much about our well being when he comes so going isn't a option saving for his arrival is what I'm doing but it stinks I miss my husband so much my worry is how long will it take after he is approved .

Lisa, Did you receive your NOA2?

No I haven't. That's why it angers me so much everytime I call and they tell me "it's out of the hands of USCIS as soon as you get your NOA1." TWO different people told me this. Do they get a script with dumb answers on it that dont make sense? Ugh

Ok..so hopefully I will hear something soon. I will fax that stuff over if they request it. Or if I don't hear something this week. That's exactly what im doing. Im trying to pay all my bills to "0"...which is near impossible it seems. Plus have that cushion of $4-500 to jump on a plane as soon as its time for our interview. I hate that we have to be present. Why can't they just interview him there and me here...and collaborate! Or talk to me on the darn phone! :(

You need to call again, and get to a tier 2 and tell then what you've been told. If they give you the same line of bull honkey, ask to talk to their supervisor. Your case is in their hands unless/until they've approved it. Record their agent name, number, and the date and time of your call. If you're getting this answer from them, they need to be reported, because it's just not true. Ask the supervisor where your case is and what it's status is.

Tier 1 and 2 are only call center employees. They are not the USCIS. They pretty much have the same information as whatyou can look up yourself on the USCIS website. They can put a service request in or an expedite request but that is only if you get one that actually wants to to their job. Many are nasty and rude. Always get their employee ID number when you call. Ask them to repeat it if you miss it !

If you haven't been transferred yet, your file is just sitting . When you get transferred, it goes to another place to just sit. Unless it is actually assigned to someone or you get an RFE, there really isn't much status. Waiting sucks. I have been waiting a few days shy of 9 months. I only found out last week that my file is assigned to someone. The problem with that is, I have no idea what " being assigned to an officer " actually means. Does it mean my file is actually on someones desk OR am I just part of a list for one of the officers that he/she will eventually get to work on? and how long has my file been assigned???

I think August filers have a while to go. They still have many files from March and April that have been collecting dust. TSC and NSC are working slower than Molasses or a dead snail. CSC was getting them approved but now some EINSTEIN decided to transfer I-129's ( work related) to the CSC for procesing .........so in my opinion, CSC will slow down too. As my lawyer told me.... " just let them do their job, it will get done" Not exactly the most comforting words.
