Guys,

After a very long frustrating month, I called the NVC to check on the AOS package, and I was shocked when they informed me that they didn’t receive it yet!!! Although my mail tracker confirmed that the package was delivered on June 3rd, 2014.

So, I was advised to send it electronically to their official e-mail address.

My question is: does anyone know how long it may take to check on (Review) this package?

Many thanks,

Christina. ..no. they dont always up date changes.

AALSSALS, I wouldn't freak out just yet. Call back. You might've gotten a LAZY rep like I did, who at first said the same thing to me and mine was received 6/2.

Dont ask if the received that specific doc yet..ask if they received a mailing for your case on 6/3 and that you tracked it to be delivered that date. The lady I had, like I said, said the same thing. THEN she said...well...I mean. Now that I look further I see a mailing received but we didnt review it yet. Then proceeded to tell me that oh by the way...we dont even have your case anymore cuz your expedite was approved. So everything she said was wrong. Not saying its definitely the same case. But ay least try to call back and see at least once. Good luck

Finally!!

Guys, my petition i130 approved yesterday after 11 months.

No emotions after such a delay :(

Could someone guide me or give me the link to followup on NVC process. I lost track of everything with this delay.

https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx

but before this you need to obtain the following:

NVC Steps

Be proactive with NVC to speed up the things, rather than reactive!

1) After receiving the case from the USCIS, NVC assigns a case# within 30 business days (also called DOS Case#)

2) Call NVC at 603-334-0700 to get NVC Case#, to provide both the petitioner and beneficiary email addresses, and to get IIN (Invoice Identification Number)

3) Fill out DS-261 (Online Choice of Agent and Address) by the beneficiary making the U.S petitioner as the agent. The NVC likes to have a U.S. Address on file even though everything is done by Email.

4) Log in to NVC online payment system at https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/signon.aspx to see AOS or IV fee is generated. (IV will not be generated until DS-261 is accepted unless you have a lawyer.)

5) Pay Affidavit of Support (AOS - I-864/I-864EZ) review fee $88 and Immigrant Visa (DS-260) fee $230, if generated. Payment status will be 'IN PROCESS' after the payment. In 1 or 5 days, the status will be 'PAID'

6) When the status shows 'PAID', print out AOS barcode sheet and IV barcode sheet

7) When the Immigrant Visa application (DS-260) becomes available, complete that online and submit

8) Express mail AOS packet and IV packet to NVC (you can send each package after they show PAID in the CEAC site.)

Congrats. I had been following up your posts since I was curious. Do you mind telling me when did you first find out that your case was delayed due to security checks? They told me my case is pending because of security checks too and I am trying to estimate how long should I expect to wait.

I first found out on May 1, 2014 after placing senator inquiry that my case is pending security checks. Then on May 21, 2014 they send me an RFE to prove bonafide marriage it was an extensive 4 pages RFE which took almost a month for me to gather documents. On June 23, 2014 I submitted RFE and July 8 I got the approval.

Now I am waiting for my case to be shipped to NVC. I wish you best of luck and hopefully you will send an update soon.

Did you place a Service Request?

Yes the response to my service request is it's pending due to background checks. I see that you were transferred to CSC in January. Thats too long of wait to be pending for security checks. Do you mind sharing what kind of documents they asked for in your RFE?

Good luck to you too for next steps. Thanks for your answer.

Yes I was on the background checks for more than 5 months after transfer. Its very painful to just sit and wait without knowing whats going on. But sadly you cannot do anything when checks are pending. My main cause for the delay for my common name. I knew that it would happen to me because whenever I travel to US they always stop me for secondary clearance.

After 10 months of delay in total they thought to give me more hard time by sending extensive RFE. I wish I could post it here but there was asking for my whole relationship from courtship to after marriage. How we met, wedding ceremony, cards, vacation, proof of bank accounts, affidavits, travel history, etc...

I hope you wont have any RFE.
