Even though the email and text we got from USCIS said to wait till we have NOA1 hard copy before we check our case online, i couldn't help myself and i just did... congrats to us, we are now showing as intital review!

Sent I-130 on 08/14 to Chicago

NOA1 email and text 08/15 MSC no.

My case status on 08/19 showing initial review.

No NOA1 hard copy as yet

initial review is what it will say until you are approved.

Don't put alot of faith into the text and email system. On the site it states it is a pilot program. I haven't gotten ONE text or email. Even back in 2008... The system is not reliable. I have heard of alot of people never getting a text etc... and then when they sign in to check status it showed their approval. Just sayin....

I am well aware of that. What surprised me is that I was able to access my case status so quickly after they received it.

I am well aware of that. What surprised me is that I was able to access my case status so quickly after they received it.

when they receive it, it is assigned a case number... It is entered into the system.. It is the same system they use. Some people are never able to access their cases online. When they call, they are told they are in the system . They get approved and sent a hard copy of the NOA2. I just hate reading other threads where people are so concerned with why they can't access their case online. It doesn't really matter ... they don't update the status until you get approved anyway. I am hoping the text feature works. It would be nice to get a happy text from the USCIS !

Wishing for a smooth and speedy process to all August 2013 filers.. Hoping all of you will have NO RFE's at USCIS stage and NO checklists at NVC stage. My husband filed for me and our minor child in August 2012 and here we are now, still preparing for our upcoming September 4 interview.. My hubby received an RFE for my Birth cert- my case was delayed for two weeks, at NVC stage, we received one checklist for our child and both our cases were delayed for one month. So, guys be informed and as much as possible research and gather all required documents and forms in advance to avoid unnecessary delays in the future. Sadly, there are still many August 2012 filers still waiting for case completions at NVC stage.. This process may or may not last for a year or so for some..

Hi, I am still preparing the paperwork but hopefully I will mail my I130 by the end of this week and most certainly in august. I'll let y'all know what happens. I've spent days reading everything I can but still a little overwhelmed but ill try and setup timeline and everything as soon as I ship this baby out. For now my focus is trying to get er done tongue.png

PS: hoping it will take 11 months. If it takes more I'll be sad and less happy. is it a fair expectation?

Always double check your documents and forms. Not only do you get delayed by RFEs and Checklists, but the time it takes for them to review the new items you send could be used to approve more applications. Save yourself and others valuable time!

Current Status: NVC:
-Assigned and Received NVC Case Number, IIN, and BIN April 18, 2014. (100% sure case # was assigned today because I called twice and it wasn't assigned in the morning when they opened but in the afternoon it was)
*Could not provide email then as case was still being updated in their system
-On April 21, 2014 I was able to provide my email and beneficiary's.
-On April 28 I was able to fill out DS-261
-On April 29 I received and paid AOS Fee (at 1pm)
-On May 1 I received and paid IV Fee (at 1pm [became available]), also AOS Fee shows as PAID
-On May 5 IV Fee shows as PAID and DS-260 became available and was completed. Also, AOS Package Scanned by NVC

-On May 7 IV Package Scanned by NVC

-On May 28 AOS Accepted

-On June 2 IV Accepted/Case Complete

-On June 11 Interview Email Received

-On July 3 Interview at Moscow

Note: Medical Exam scheduled after interview letter received by calling the specific clinic, earliest appointment was 2 weeks ahead)

-Visa approved, came to us, got greencard, sadly things didnt go well and divorced. Last I hears she was still in the US and got a full greencard (I notified USCIS of divorce though)

Been reading up abit on the new NBC in Kansas that will be opening up end of september. Wonder what it means for all of us that has just filed. Will it take longer because it is a new centre, which means new employees, or could it mean a faster NOA2??

I had the same thought..and also..what month-petitions have been transferred there?from what I've been reading looks like that other than August filers also July and June are in Kansas,but I don't know about previous months..so the question remains, will it be faster for us or longer??
