I think i will call next week, probably every 3 days..... How do you know they have been working OT?

How long after the case # can you see/pay the AOS and IV (As i am using a lawyer i understand that a) i will not do a DS260 and b) my AOS and IV will come at the same time!

Anecdotally, somebody on the NVC March thread was told by an agent. He was told that they are working OT and Saturdays to help with the current backlog at NVC. No one else has collaborated it but I tend to believe it. The work at NVC is really paper checking, to make sure forms are filled out per instructions and there aren't any blatant omissions or wrongdoing. No need to wait for other agencies at all, so if they can work a few more hours or have more employees they can certainly get the backlog cleared.

Case # assignment alone isn't sufficient, I've seen people get case # but can't do anything with it until you get the invoice ID #. But, once both are assigned AOS and IV bill (in your case) should be available in 2-3 days. BTW, it's the DS-261 that you don't have to fill out, DS-260 will be filled out after you pay the IV bill.

Good luck!

In my opinion you can call nvc or

only called if you get NvC ask something.. otherwise you will be fine with single status..

And do amend tax return after your love come here.

Hi, Waiting..

So what city your interview is going to held in india?

you r very close now..

I think I am just gonna have to wait and hope for the best because the amendment takes long

What's interesting is that I called the tax preparer again to tell him he made a mistake and that we should get my tax return amended and he said he was sure he did it correctly and that he asked and was told it's okay to file as single

You should get you money back from the tax preparer first :-)

You can file the amendment now, and send that to NVC along with the other documents. You don't need a response, just file it and send the copy. Your transcript might not be updated in time, but having the copy of what you filed to IRS is more than sufficient.

I know lol

I told him he made a mistake and we should get it amended and he said no amendments needed and that he asked and was told filing as single is okay

anyways, I will prob just wait it out and hope things go well and if something were to come up then I will juts amend it then

My wife will be interviewing in Bombay. We still have some time to go, still haven't gotten the IV fee yet and after that all of the documents will need review (30 business days). Interview date after that, not sure what the gap between case complete and interview date at BMB is currently...

Hope you get your case# soon, good luck!!

When you get your interview date than we will know Mumbai gap..

My interview will also held at Mumbai.

Hi guys,

I filed a petition for my wife and my mother back in August. They already approved my wife's petition and it is in NVC now. My mother's online case status says RFE sent on March 14. I think I did something wrong in section C and below is question for that section.

C. Information about your relative

17. List spouse and all children of your relative

(Name) (Relationship)

Name of my mother's first child Sister

Is this correct? As you can see I put sister under relationship, but when I see it now it should be child because it asks relationship to my relative. The question is not relative to me. In short my question is: What should be the answer for relationship? That is relationship to whom? Any one who filed this for parents or has some idea please help. Thanks!

I'd say they're asking for whether the entry is the spouse or son/daughter of your relative, so their relationship to your mother, not you.

I am the beneficiary.

I was looking at the August sheet and noticed only 1 other person has had there case sent to National Benefits Center.. Seems like their workload should be low, my case was transferred from the CSC, now i see a lot of approvals coming from them.. I am becoming a basket case.. does anyone know how quickly the National Benefits Center is working?

I'm trying to stay positive!

I'd say they're asking for whether the entry is the spouse or son/daughter of your relative, so their relationship to your mother, not you.

Thanks a lot for your reply. Yes, that should be corrected and still waiting for the paper RFE notice to see what else is needed.
