Question…. from what I hear the i130 is the "worst" part…. once this is approved the NVC is more of a "process", and is there to "check you documents". is this true?

Also I hear that the interview in London is also quite easy (if you have no criminal record etc)….

So basically one the USCIS i130 part is over, it should be pretty straightforward…. as long as you file the right paperwork and don't have a criminal record etc etc...

I got RFE for bonafide marraige......My file is at TSC....can you please tell me how long does it take for apporval....too much worried....

after u sent proof and if they accept your RFE documents than it won't take longer than 21 days.

This is weird, this morning I received an email saying that my I-130 was approved and just now I got an email for a RFE for the I-129F...should I just ignore the RFE? I thought they would stop working on the I-129F once the I-130 is approved. I'm confused....

You can call them and withdraw your 129f at uScis level.

Just an update,

VJ member: "Status_" with a PD of September 4 was approved yesterday March 6 after being transfered on Feb 24 to VSC.

I think he is the first approval to come from Vermont. He was transfered the same day as both August filers who were sent to Vermont. (mza001 and me)

Vermont has done practically nothing for months and has a huge backlog so I don't really know what they are up to but I guess they wil be skipping that backlog and focusing on transfers since many more in September were transfered to VSC. I guess this is good for others transfered and me since approval could come very soon, but I feel bad for all of those who are getting skipped as it is plain wrong.

I hope everyone here does not just forget about USCIS after getting their loved one's visa and they continue to advocate and stay active in trying to reduce the visa times for future generations. Remember how you felt waiting.

Edited by Snipe

Always double check your documents and forms. Not only do you get delayed by RFEs and Checklists, but the time it takes for them to review the new items you send could be used to approve more applications. Save yourself and others valuable time!

Current Status: NVC:
-Assigned and Received NVC Case Number, IIN, and BIN April 18, 2014. (100% sure case # was assigned today because I called twice and it wasn't assigned in the morning when they opened but in the afternoon it was)
*Could not provide email then as case was still being updated in their system
-On April 21, 2014 I was able to provide my email and beneficiary's.
-On April 28 I was able to fill out DS-261
-On April 29 I received and paid AOS Fee (at 1pm)
-On May 1 I received and paid IV Fee (at 1pm [became available]), also AOS Fee shows as PAID
-On May 5 IV Fee shows as PAID and DS-260 became available and was completed. Also, AOS Package Scanned by NVC

-On May 7 IV Package Scanned by NVC

-On May 28 AOS Accepted

-On June 2 IV Accepted/Case Complete

-On June 11 Interview Email Received

-On July 3 Interview at Moscow

Note: Medical Exam scheduled after interview letter received by calling the specific clinic, earliest appointment was 2 weeks ahead)

-Visa approved, came to us, got greencard, sadly things didnt go well and divorced. Last I hears she was still in the US and got a full greencard (I notified USCIS of divorce though)

Sort of.

They checklist everything and the back and forth is now taking up to 3 or 4 months from when the date of USCIS petition approval.

They're "mechanical"/protocol-oriented bureaucrats who don't want to send anything to the consulate that does not pass their basic "validation rules".

They do ONE NCIC check that takes 24 hours (on just the beneficiary I think) and that's really it.

The consulate does all the brain work.
