For some people CSC seems to be very productive and quick. For some people it has been over three weeks and no word from them yet... Let's hope for a good week now! :)

Since there was a heavy discussion here on originals versus certified copies of marriage certificates and birth certificates, I wanted to clarify one more...

The official travel.state.gov website (see here: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/submit/documents-to-submit-to-nvc.html) states the following relating to supporting documents that have to be submitted to NVC:

"If you are married, you must obtain an original marriage certificate, or a certified copy, bearing the appropriate seal or stamp of the issuing authority."

So we have to submit an original of the birth certificate, but may submit a certified copy of the marriage certificate, right?

I am thinking more now...

At the same time in the beginning of that travel.state.gov page it states "You and each family member immigrating with you to the United States must submit to the NVC original civil documents issued by an appropriate authority, or certified copies of those documents listed in this section."

Birth certificates and marriage certificates belong to the list of those documents listed (see here: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/submit/documents-to-submit-to-nvc.html), so I would argue that we MAY actually submit CERTIFIED COPIES of BOTH birth and marriage certificates.

Any leads and counterarguments will be appreciated. :)

Most people don't have original original documents. Certified copies from the issuing agency will do the trick for the birth and marriage certificate.
