You need to get a birth certificate from the Registrar of Birth and Deaths (RBD).

Recently there has been a push to get everybody in India, even those with no known birth records, a bilingual universal birth certificate.

My original in Hindi was a ratched little piece of paper that got lost in the mail and they issued me a brand new one for no fee, ridiculously fast.

It is super easy to get a new one.

Thanks! It sounds like this won't be too hard then! The only other problem is that his original BC also had a different name (his dad named him Raju and that is the only name that was on his original BC just Raju with no surname or anything) but then when he started school he changed his name and has been going by Abhijeet since school (all school records, Pan car, passport etc are in new name) so this might also cause some issues I think?

Ok so now I have a question....how many texts or emails do are we suppose to actually get? The one from last night said it was transferred on Feb 11 and then this morning it says on Feb 12 your case was transferred soooo then when did we actually get transferred??

On February 11, 2014, we transferred this case I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN to another office for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action. Please follow any instructions provided on the notice. We will notify you by mail when a decision is made.

Then we got:

On February 12, 2014, we transferred your I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN, to your local USCIS Office for further processing. The new office has jurisdiction over your case and will send you a decision as soon as processing is complete or you will be notified if further information or action is needed.

My husband and I filed 8/7/13, and we received a notice that we have been transferred to the California office dated 2/5/14. Are these posts saying people are getting approved within days of being transferred?

It's starting to get annoying when people ask the same thing over and over when all they have to do is read a few post above them. We're not even talking like they have to read all 165 pages of thread, just a few posts since people ask the same thing over and over again... And when they ask they dont eve say please tongue.png

anyway it's good to see NOA2s! Very exciting! Don't forget to update timelines NOA2 and service center guys smile.png

I'm pretty sure we will all be transfered by end of month biggrin.png Considering I'm in the last day of the month I can assume that when I get transfered everyone in this thread should have been transfered by then. Keep fingers crossed for it to happen in the next 2 weeks!

PS: I wonder how all these approvals will affect workload at NVC, they were slow as it is, but now that I-130s are moving, I wonder how they'll handle the extra workload.

Always double check your documents and forms. Not only do you get delayed by RFEs and Checklists, but the time it takes for them to review the new items you send could be used to approve more applications. Save yourself and others valuable time!

Current Status: NVC:
-Assigned and Received NVC Case Number, IIN, and BIN April 18, 2014. (100% sure case # was assigned today because I called twice and it wasn't assigned in the morning when they opened but in the afternoon it was)
*Could not provide email then as case was still being updated in their system
-On April 21, 2014 I was able to provide my email and beneficiary's.
-On April 28 I was able to fill out DS-261
-On April 29 I received and paid AOS Fee (at 1pm)
-On May 1 I received and paid IV Fee (at 1pm [became available]), also AOS Fee shows as PAID
-On May 5 IV Fee shows as PAID and DS-260 became available and was completed. Also, AOS Package Scanned by NVC

-On May 7 IV Package Scanned by NVC

-On May 28 AOS Accepted

-On June 2 IV Accepted/Case Complete

-On June 11 Interview Email Received

-On July 3 Interview at Moscow

Note: Medical Exam scheduled after interview letter received by calling the specific clinic, earliest appointment was 2 weeks ahead)

-Visa approved, came to us, got greencard, sadly things didnt go well and divorced. Last I hears she was still in the US and got a full greencard (I notified USCIS of divorce though)

I got text saying my petition was transferred on the 5th of Feb. On Feb 10th I got the hard copy saying my petition was sent to CSC. Check my case status tonight and it says my petition was approved on Feb 11th
