so what time did you know that you were approved? did it come via email like the transfers (in the evening) or does it come anytime during the day??

It was email first - I got it at 10 PM Chicago time.

I thought that was really bizarre but hey.. its an approval :D !

A little off topic here, but since there are so many Indians I thought I would throw this out there. Hubby doesn't have a birth certificate, it seems it gets turned into the school when he started in Bhopal and from then on he is supposed to use his school record as proof for date of birth?

What do we do then for NVC to submit for birth certificate when he doesn't physically have one and doesn't know any way of getting a "certified copy"?

You need to get a birth certificate from the Registrar of Birth and Deaths (RBD).

Recently there has been a push to get everybody in India, even those with no known birth records, a bilingual universal birth certificate.

My original in Hindi was a ratched little piece of paper that got lost in the mail and they issued me a brand new one for no fee, ridiculously fast.

It is super easy to get a new one.

On February 12, 2014, we mailed a notice requesting initial evidence in this case. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the evidence requested. WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO........approval one day after receiving my hard copy of my transfer to CSC. I can't believe this. omg!!!!!

haha very small world! Abhi was born and brought up in Bhopal but he is a marwadi. He went to St Joseph's in Bhopal!

But for university went to Pune and lived there for many years (that's where we met and lived for 2 years) and then we both moved and lived in Bangalore for the past 3 years until we finally got married and I moved back to US to start setting up our life over here!
