K-1 London Embassy Medical - Drugs Test?

Hey there, I have my medical in London on Tuesday.

I do not use drugs, so I wasn't worried about doing a drugs test. However, I am spending this weekend at a music festival in San Francisco (just before I fly back to London) and today there was ALOT of people smoking weed in the crowd. I am just getting paranoid that this second hand smoke will make me test positive on my drugs test!

Does anyone know;

1. if this is completely irrational? Can second hand smoke make you test positive?

2. what kind of drugs test they do in London? blood or urine?

I am probably over reacting, but just want to check!

PS. Saw Paul McCartney play tonight at the festival and he was blooming brilliant!

Not sure about the second hand smoke thing, but they don't do drugs tests unless they suspect that you're an active drug user. They take blood with most people (they took mine and everyone else I saw in there had the plasters for a blood test too). I mentioned about my anti-allergy tablet I'd taken in the morning and she said "It won't make any difference, we are only testing for syphilis" so it wasn't for a drugs test. They don't take urine as standard.

I bet they routinely do in some countries, and maybe you saw that?

Also, I noticed when I was there and I used the bathroom, that there were signs aimed at people applying for *Australian* visas - seems they get drug tested.

Also, Google rates of syphilis in the UK. Higher than you'd imagine and going up in some groups. Scary!

Yeah, given that I worry about any possible uncertainty in this process, I actually had a full STI test inc. blood test when I applied back in January, knowing I'd have to do my medical at some point. It came back clean so I'm not worried about my blood.

Ah well you've made me feel 100% better about this! I was giving everyone such dirty looks yesterday at the festival as they blew smoke in my vicinty, haha, but now I don't have to worry - phew!

Yeah, I saw that on the toilet door too, saying Australian visa applicants need a urine test. US ones don't unless they're suspected of drug use. My dr just said to me "I have to ask blanket questions I ask everyone - have you ever used or abused drugs?" "No". That was it. Obviously they check the answers on your forms too, but yeah.
