So my husband called uscis today and she had a conversation with tier 2 officer. They get information everything about him like adress and full name. The tier said that our case is on going process and said it takes 6 mos to a year to process the cr 1. Our case is already 5 mos and 1 week since we received noa 1. My question is what does he mean on going processing and when is the prediction date to be approve. Does cr1 can be long to 1 yr?pls give me explanation if somebody have the same situation and sooner get their noa2.thank u vj family godbless us all

Yes, the CR1 process can easily take a year or more.

The first step is the I-130 and getting the approval through the USCIS. This can take anywhere from 4-8 months (on average). Once that is done you need to get through the NVC which can take a month or more, depending on how quickly you respond to them and what they need. Once that is done you need to wait for the embassy to schedule an interview, which can take some time... and then the interview itself which i often scheduled 6-8 weeks out (depending on the embassy and availability). So there is your potential year or so right there. That does nto include any AP... which may or may not happen, which is an undetermined amount of time.

Yes, the year estimate is for the entire process - it includes the NVC and interview stage.

Our I-130 at the USCIS was approved in roughly 7 months... this varies depending on service centers, cases, case loads, etc.

Hi there! we are roughly on the same time frame..we filed my 130 CR1 last March 5..so its 5 months and 6 days..still its on initial review base on USCIS website. My husband called last Aug5 and was answered by tier2 as well.He was informed that we will be receiving a letter end of this month requesting for additional documents on my husband's job. So i guess that was a good response, atleast we are expecting they need more papers from us and they are working on it. The tier2 officer also provided us a reference number just in case we will not receive the said letter. It is good to hear something in detail rather than the same old statement "still on process"...God Bless us all.

You are considered lucky if you get your NOA2 within 5 - 6 months, which is USCIS's target on processing I-130s.

I think the average processing time now would be 7 months but be prepared to go a little beyond that. Then add a couple more months for NVC and interview and you get to 9 - 10 months before getting your visa. That's almost a year! Yikes.

Timeline after visa approval

Immigrant fee paid on ELIS - Jan 24th

Update on GC and SSN

(as of March 14th, 2014)

SSN - Received (Went to SSA location to apply for one)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

N-400 Naturalization Process

N-400 package mailed in - Nov 7th

Payment posted on cc account - Nov 10th

NOA (hard copy) - Nov 14th

Biometrics - Dec 7th
