Just as simple as it sounds. We've been approved, she's the petitioner, her mom is going to co-sponsor me, and has filled out her I-134, and my girlfriend just got a job. Should she fill out the I-134 now with basically "0" for every field, or should she just wait until she has a couple of paychecks and some cash in the bank? Either way, she'll be able to give me some cheque-stubs to go to the interview with, to show we are not wholly dependent on the co-sponsor.

What should I do?

Let me ease your thought. Update your timeline to start. You have a NOA1. There is plenty of time to gather check-stubs but No 134 is even asked for. So, family is signing invalid Affidavits.

The proof of income comes at the Interview way down the road. Yes Wait.. To provide proof. It is very Lovely for mom to co-sponsor but that would not be needed at this time. You have no-where to send it anyway. Wait for the NOA2 and follow procedure after that. Key Word is Relax and don't fill-out any forms until asked. So your answer is WAIT.

You could go either way, since she is using a co-sponsor, but I would personally wait until she can show at least 2 or 3 months of working her new job. I think her being able to list her current annual income on the I-134 will help the CO's decision. Also, you do not have to put 0 for everything on the form. If you are not using assets, then you do not need to list them and can leave those blank.

With all Respect Jay-Kay. Your even confusing me if I was the OP. This is a New-Bee and the Beneficiary asking.

There is No I-134 even asked for at this. No Co-sponsor or Income requirements.

2 or 3 months of pay-stubs for current employment, that is not going to asked until the Interview. Normal waiting periods for the NOA2 are about 6 months and then the Interview which adds more time.

I just think the OP is not aware and is trying to figure this out. Lack of Knowledge but thats why were here.

Again, my advice is to wait and save them pay-stubs.

See the sentence I made bold? They are approved. They are at the point where the I-134 is in fact needed.

I also can clearly read that they are the beneficiary and not the petitioner because they also stated that in their post. My answer addressed that fact as I used the words, 'she' and 'her' when referring to the USC petitioner.

What does it matter if they are new here or not? They have not filled out their timeline, like many people that post here. I just read what they said in their actual post instead, "We've been approved." It also makes no difference if the USC petitioner or foreign fiance(e) is asking the question here. I posted nothing confusing. That is all your doing. I gave the actual information they were asking about and seeking with their post here. I answered based on the information they gave. I do not know where your information came from.

Kay, so we should wait two or three months? The thing is that we are going through the vancouver consulate, which is apparently a pretty speedy operation if what I've read is true. I was hoping moreso we could just wait until she got a couple or three paystubs and go with that. I mean, I figure with a co-sponsor making more than enough, and her with a job, all should be well?

Also, her mom covers her room and board, which I believe counts as an asset on that form, does it not?

I updated my timeline as well. Sorry everyone.

So, if it is a short process to get the interview, will she have at least one pay stub? She can use that and a letter from her employer or her job offer letter if it lists her salary on it. Since she is using a co-sponsor, you should be approved anyway because they will look to the co-sponsor to meet the requirements if they feel she doesn't.

No, cannot use room and board. Assets do not need to be used if the income meets the requirement. Assets are used when the income is not enough and the assets must be at 3 to 5 times the shortcoming in the income. When having enough income, you can just leave all those asset questions blank.
