Received 221 g form but status on ceac is showing ap!

Hope someone can help me i have a friend her fiancee recently went to an interview but was given form 221 g , however when she check online its showing AP, can someone please tell me if they are still reviewing the case or can my friend appeal if so how can she appeal?

How recently did she have her interview and at which embassy?

It's normal for CEAC to show "AP" for a couple of days after approval - in that case it just means "paper shuffling" and will switch to Issued once the visa is applied to the passport.

If it's been AP for more than a week or 2, then it's likely the other sort of AP that takes an indefinite period of time, and means there are further background checks occurring.

* I-130/CR-1 visa by Direct Consular Filing in London
3rd May 2013 - Married in London
7th May 2013 - I-130 filed
4th June 2013 - NOA2 (approved)
16th July 2013 - Interview (approved)
30th July 2013 - POE San Francisco
29th August 2013 - 2 year green card arrived

* Removal of Conditions (RoC) via California Service Centre
1st May 2015 - 90 day RoC window opened
6th May 2015 - I-751 filed (delivered 8th May, cheque cashed 18th May)
7th August 2015 - Approved / GC production
27th August 2015 - 10 year green card arrived

* Naturalisation (Citizenship) via Phoenix Lockbox

* San Francisco Field Office:
1st May 2016 - N-400 window opened
20th August 2016 - N-400 filed
26th August 2016 - NOA1
13th September 2016 - Biometrics

12th January 2017 - Biometrics (again)
30th May 2017 - Interview (approved)
7th June 2017 - Oath

Oh, I see. My mistake for not reading properly. Their case will go back to the NVC now - the CEAC status is somewhat useless to know what's going on.

CO just think the relationship is not real, these people really piss me off how the hell they are going to tell you if ur relationship is real or not


Oh, I see. My mistake for not reading properly. Their case will go back to the NVC now - the CEAC status is somewhat useless to know what's going on.

It was a K1?

Someone will correct me if I have this backwards, but I think what happens is the case goes to NVC then back to the service center where it was processed, who'll send out a letter outlining the denial and what next steps can be taken. Of course, by then, the original petition will be expired.

It's their job to assess if a relationship is real or not - your friend will likely need to review what evidence they presented and work out what was missing.
