Police are searching for a man who shot his fiance and her mother in an auto shop yesterday. The grisly murders, which were captured on CCTV, also show the man performing a cheerful little jig shortly after he fired the three fatal bullets.

In the video the killer, Tasapol Haekla, his fiance, her mother and two other individuals are seen talking on camera for about 10 minutes. Suddenly Tasapol, who was known for his short temper, retrieves a gun and shoots both women.

The fiance, Kewelin Hongthong, and her mother died instantly.

The attacker then stated “anyone is invited to be witness” before dancing away from the Chon Buri crime scene.

Tasapol is still on the run.

Police have issued a rare jub tai order, which literally translates to “catch dead,” to all officers.

The couple was to marry at the end of this month.

Damn, that dude just snapped.

Good thing is the cops are ordered to shoot to kill in this case, so there wont be any long drawn out trial when they catch up with him.

I have no problem with that in a case like this where there is absolutely no question as to what happened.

Fiancée killer: Future in-law to blame

The man arrested for shooting dead his bride-to-be has claimed that he killed her and her mother when his would be in-law tried to stop their wedding by increasing the sin sod, or bride price for her daughter, from 500,000 baht to 2 million baht.

Tasaphol Haekla, 35, made the claims during interrogation after police arrested him in the Cambodian tourist town of Siem Reap on Monday, four days after he killed Kewelin Hongthong, 28, and her mother Wimol Hongthong, 48 at a garage in Chon Buri’s Muang district.

Tasaphol said he was actually due to marry Kewelin on Nov 28, not Aug 28 as stated in media reports, Pol Maj Gen Katcha Thatsart, commander of Chon Buri police station, told a news conference.

The murder suspect said he had treated his fiancée well, by giving her money and funding her studies.

But he said Kewelin’s mother had told her to stop seeing him after he said he could not afford 2 million baht for her sin sod.

Tasaphol also accused Kewelin of being fond of talking to his close friend using the Line chat application; although he claimed his friend had tried to stay away from her.

He said he was jealous and had warned her about talking to his friend many times, given that they were due to marry soon, but Kewelin ignored him.

He previously intended to shoot only his mother-in-law-to-be, but said he killed Kewelin too, because of being stressed and unhappy about his lover’s behaviour.

He said he danced his way out of the crime scene because he felt released from the pressure he had been under, and did not know he had been caught on the garage’s security camera. He claimed he did not mean to ridicule the victims.

I guess they couldn't kill to capture on foreign soil...bummer. At least we know what set him off... $64K

Yeah if they would've found him in Thailand, we'd be talking about a dead suspect.

That whole sin sot (dowry thing) is a pain in the a$$. It really doesn't come down to the money, it comes down to how you look to your peers. Throw a foreigner into the mix and the price triples. I know alot of people that paid the money at the wedding so the brides family can show it off, and then they give it back. Every time I go to the wife's village her aunt starts nagging the hell out of me about throwing a big wedding and the sin sot since I never paid anything and we never had a proper wedding. We just went to the district office and signed some papers and that was that.

Although, it doesn't justify murder, I know the guy's future mother in law was probably wearing him out daily over that sin sot. Probably because she had already bragged to all her friends that her daughter hit the jackpot with the guy and now he couldn't come up with the cash.

Sounds an awful lot like China.

Sa Kaeo man held for killing fiancee

A man who shot dead his fiancee and her mother was arrested in the border province of Sa Kaeo yesterday.

The self-confessed killer, Yossapon Haekarn, was about to flee to Cambodia at the time of his arrest.

The shooting took place in Chon Buri on August 8 and was captured by a closed-circuit television system. His seemingly unrepentant attitude sparked public condemnation.

Yossapon told police he opened fire in a fit of rage and jealousy after his fiancee's mother encouraged her daughter to break up with him.

He claimed the mother wanted to increase the bridal dowry of Bt2 million, while he could provide only about Bt240,000.

"When I said I didn't have that much money, she told her daughter to end her relationship with me," he said.

Yossapon also claimed that his bride-to-be fell for his close friend.

Police have charged Yossapon with pre-mediated murder, illegally possessing a gun and ammunition, and unauthorised carrying of a gun and ammunition in public area.
