I went to the NVC to check the status of our case. I input the case number and select each option. Both options returned an error. "An unexpected error has occurred while processing your previous request. The error has been reported to the site administrator; no further action is required."

What must I being doing not to get the update to my status but only getting this error.

Thanks,

You already have your MNL case number, and soon your case should be on its way to Manila, so why not just pay the visa application fee at BPI, schedule an interview appointment, and complete the medical?

I'd give it a day. I see it just arrived. I remember the CSR telling me something like that when I called the day it arrived.

Don't forget to email NVC to get a line of communication going. They won't respond until it ships out.

Strangely enough, mine shipped out, but I never got the email. Just the letter.

Didn't the letter you received from NVC state it was "going to ship", then recently you received the email after it actually shipped?

Just asking as I had read NVC doesn't reply to the email request until after the file has actually shipped.

I only just got phone confirmation that they have the file from USCIS and have signed the case number. I sent an email as you have outlined in your instructions Hank and still waiting on a reply. It's still early and we are not in a rush but do intend to shoot for the interview for Sept. 27th.

Like you, I like to follow the process and try all the different suggestions from the group. So for me it's more to learn and experiment rather than rush rush rush.

After almost 5 years on this road, I am not in any kind of hurry other than what is normal when you want your fiancée near you. Shiela told me early on that if you are in a "white guy" rush, then I am the wrong person for you to be persuing. So, "lol" I have learned to have patience and to bide my time.

Her daughter is in the 4th year of college and the semester break is in late October and that is when we will be leaving for the USA. So, because of self imposed restrictions, we have a timeline that we are following and it does not include rushing.

Now that you have your MNL # get the interview setup so that you have the date you want locked in. The email will arrive once the file has actually shipped.

For sure no need to rush as everything else can be done very easily in a couple weeks.

^^^. This!

The sooner one gets their MNL case number, pays the visa application fee at BPI, and schedules their interview, the more likely one is to get their target interview date. Then it's time to relax.

I'm still getting the same error. Oh well I think I will give it a day or two and try again. Still have not head anything from them, NVC, in answer to my email.

Thanks for the answer, it was what I was looking for.

You got your MNL # correct? You sent in the email request? Then relax. Did you schedule the interview for the 27th of September?
