AP does not necessarily depend upon the CO, in many cases AP is because of a name hit, in this case AP is not the CO's decision and it's 100% unavoidable My husband had AP, but it was not because of missing documents or because the CO did not think we had a bonafide marriage, we were told it was because he had a name hit and more extensive background checks had to be done. We were told the day of the interview his visa was approved pending further checks on the Washington DC level, not because we were missing anything, in fact the CO was very upfront with us and said it's just name checks and there was nothing to worry about. We didn't need to provide any further documentation or evidence the day of the interview, and he didn't ask for us to bring anything further.

For how long was your husband placed in AP? :(

Hey Sis...

Let's say I am somewhat in the same shoes as you are, I am also an American Citizen.

We got married the first time we met, I spent a year and a half with my husband; I am still with him.

I waited this long so he can get his Visa and we go together (Which I am still praying for).

My husband had his interview on July 17th 2013 and unfortunately the CO said he will be placed in AP.

I told the CO I waited for my husband all this time, I am also pregnant..blah blah blah crying in front of him and trying to beg him for my husbands Visa.

But the CO said all proofs and documents are legit BUT it is not in his hands, and he cannot do anything about it.

The CO said he forwarded the Case to the DOS but he also told them that there is nothing wrong or missing in the case.

P.S: We had loads of pictures of the wedding, of our honeymoon as well.

Good Luck........

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that :( I just read this thread about writing to a congress person so they might give AP cases priority..What ever city you lived in the US when you were here, find out who the congress person is for that area. And tell them your story, perhaps that will help. I'm so sorry, and wish you two the best of luck!

My advice! Just be real. Show no fear and let him go in faith, supply enough evidences as available/needed and pray something good comes out. Genuineness is never hidden. If he's in with you for real, then be rest assured the visa will be granted. CO's are humans and sometimes have the mind of God to do things right.

Thanks for your advice :) We will do exactly this and try to show all the evidence we can, we have files and files of it. And we are so in love, hopefully that will show through during the interview.. I'll keep you all posted on what happens :)

As long as you guys completed and meet all the paperworks required there will be no problem. Questions on the interview will be based on what you submitted. My husband and I got married, a month after he got here, he stayed for a while, then went back to states.

Don't be sorry crying.gif

But reading some responses to such threads about contacting Congressmen makes me doubt the case will be given priority but I will definitely give it a shotcray5ol.gif

Yeah, try everything you can..and keep fighting. And leave the rest on God, things will happen when it is the best time. I tell myself this too :)

That is refreshing! Thanks :)

I personally don't believe that there is something you can do avoid being on AP .. just make sure all your paper are completely and accurately filled out .. return all required items and you will be ok

Yup, we have an immigration attorney helping us, and he has filled out all the paper work very accurately. Other than that I have organized all the proof to prove the marriage is a good faith marriage. Yeah, and I understand that if the CO has reason to send us to AP, he/she will..but just was looking for tips,

I don't know the answer for your question but if I was you, I will include/ have information about the culture. For example the fact that your culture forbids dating. There most be articles or maybe a letter from a religious person (equivalent of a priest) that explains how things are done in your country. You could also get notarized letters from someone who can say that know both of you and knows that your marriage is real.

In my case, when I got married I did not take my husbands last name and kept my maiden name. I was a bit concerned that that was going to be seen as a red flag but in my culture women don't take their husbands last name. My mom did not took my dad's last name and none of my sisters have their husbands last name. My mom and my brother made notarized letters saying that they know me and my husband and that we are a real marriage. At the end we did not need the letters and no one asked anything about the last name but I was prepared just in case.

Hopefully you have enough evidence of long distance relationship and they wont question the marriage in the first meeting. Anyways be prepared... Good Luck smile.png
