It shouldn't take more than 2-3 weeks. In some cases less time. I received my case number in two days back in April and within 7 days our package was at the embassy

After getting NOA 2 how soon do you get your case number ?

If your case is transferred from VSC to TSC it take about 3-4 weeks (mine take 25 days from the day approved to received case number). When you received email/text state that you case shipped to DOS/NVC, you can call 202-663-1225 press 1 then press 0 on the 8th day to get your case number.

Otherwise, depend on your case status. Everyone will experience differently.

Good luck!!

In my case, the i-130 was approved on July 16 by CSC, and I received the choice of agent form and AOS invoice on August 7...so it was 22 days. Although I was told by NVC operator that they entered the info into their system on Aug 2.
