I voted patience because most of the time this whole thing is out of your control...it's someone else out there processing everything and passing judgement over you and your family. Often you can do very little to influence or expediate it, and often it is the smallest of mistakes that gets everything set back again...

But the WORST part is that, after sooooo much waiting, there is a tremendous build up for the finish. And then when it's over there's certain to be such a let down when reality sets in...

Our timeline...

I-130/CR-1

10/7-12/29/05: NOA 1+2

8/10/06: case received in Frankfurt--get letter asking for more info

think we'll adjust in the states...

K3

2/7/06: NOA 2

4/24/06: Interview in Copenhagen

5/17/06: Sent additional info. requested

8/9/06: e-mail from embassy that they are ready to issue visa

8/23/06: visa in hand

WOW!!! Sounds like you have had a rough start to your processing. I know what you mean about the mistakes. When I first sent my I-130 in did the papers and mailed them on the 29th Aug but I work 29 Sept on the check and I lost 2 weeks of processing time that way. Just hang on and be strong and hopefully everything works out

 I guess all of my patience (which i must say is almost none at the moment) has paid off because i spoke with the NVC and my expedite request is granted!!! Of course I still have to finish the long drawn out paperwork process with the NVC but after that she will receive her medical exam and interview. So hurray and I thank God for hearing my prayers and my request for help through these hard and stressful times

You know what....I can't take it anymore....I need to see my wife...So i just bought a plane ticket to the Philippines for $1300.00. Yes, that did lighten the bank account  but I have to go because I don't know if the embassy will approve the Expedite Request before i leave to Iraq in July....Once the case is complete. So May 2, 2006....I will be on a plane to travel some 22-24 hrs across the globe to see the my wife :D for a whole 3 week :star: We might just have to go for the addition to the family ;)

The distance was, when not being able to give or receive that hug one needs at times.

It's late and I need to get to bed, so sorry if it's been said before, but my vote is for distance. Basically because if it weren't for the distance we wouldn't (have needed) need patience so much anyway!! I think this is proven by the fact that people generally take waiting for AOS much more easily than waiting for the visa..why? Because they're together. :) M.

The distance is definitely harder (for me, at least). Once you're in AOS, you're still waiting on paperwork, but it's so much easier to deal with if you have your SO with you.

They are both hard.... but the sooner the wait is over, the sooner the distance decreases to ZERO!!! That's why I said waiting is harder, and my SO feels the same way.

DISTANCE! Not being able to see him makes me crazy. We are both going crazy and are always thinking the "what if's" regarding the AR. We can't make plans to do anything, all we do is sit and wait. No one has answers. Makes me feel terrible that we are going through such a hard time and cannot be together to support each other.

Yeah, distance has been harder than having patience with this paperwork although that has been (and still is) pretty frustrating. Not being able to see your beloved, or walk across the room to kiss him...things that other couples take for granted...now that's the hard part.

For me is distance, 'cus I wouldn't mind waiting if he could be here with me. Like I prolly won't be so pissed at waiting for AOS, 'cus I'll be together with him. I have very little patience though, and this waiting is driving me nuts.
