Hi Visajourney,

I have been married to the love of my life for almost a year now. I just recently sent in my application for I-130 and I-485 and within a week I've gotten a notification that the I-130 was accepted and I can wait for the arrival of I-797 Notice in the mail. My experience is a little different since I have been working with an EAD card for about 7 months now legally which means they have done background checks on me and so on and so forth, I figured this would hurry up the process since their work is cut out for them. I also have my SSN and my Driver's License.Im sure they will still take quite a long time to process the papers and make a decision.

I wrote a cover letter as well with all the documents I sent in to make it formal. I am a little nervous about what they will decide because there always that chance that they might reject it over a tiny thing, but my husband tries to reassure me that there shouldn't be anything wrong with it since I've checked so many times before I sent it. I mean I sent a lot of different documents to provide proof of our legit wedding. From Invitations to thank you cards and to pictures I figured I've covered a lot.

I can keep people on here updated on what has happed and will happen in the next few weeks and months to come. Hope everything will work out. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

I come here in 2011 on a j1 visa, went out of status seven months later! Stayed illegal worked illegal married in February 2013, submitted AOS package in April 2013 on august 05 2013 @ 1pm green card APPROVED ON THE SPOT! I am 27 years old black, he is 56 years old white. Don't you think these was a more complicated case than yours? I did all the paper work by myself no attorney involved & I got it in less than 4 months. The interview took 5 minutes for me & 10 minutes for him, because they separate all the couples in Boston. The lady was very friendly and I still can not believe that I am done with it. DO NOT STRESS YOURSELF. Everything will be alright since you seems to have maintained your status too.dancin5hr.gif
