***moved to USCIS discussion from IR1/CR1 process and procedures***

After 2-3 months most of the time the NBC is not adjudicating your petition. It goes to the local office of the petitioner. Some of these are faster than others.

well i dont think there is a way to contact a local office until they state by a letter or online on uscis that they trnsfered the case beside being told by a tier 2 that the case was transfered to a local office beside giving out the phone number to call and for this i dont think we can find the exact phone number to call :)

You cannot contact the local office except by infopass. Your husband is not contacting the NBC, he is contacting the USCIS. Is he speaking to a tier 2 or the first person to answer the phone? The first person is a tier 1, CSR, and they can only tell you what you'd be able to see online (if you could.) The second person may or may not be helpful enough to dig in a little deeper.

What would your local office be?

seems that there are quite a few I-130 approvals in the IR1/CR1 forum. Not everyone makes a post about it though.

As a note:

  • Over a million people became a US LPR last year. Over 484,000 of those were new arrivals.
  • Of the one million, over 478,000 were immediate relatives of a USC, of which over 273,000 were spouses.

I can imagine why it takes 4-12 months for a petition. :)

You cannot directly contact the NBC. You can only call the USCIS call center. You have to wait for 6 months to pass before the USCIS will initiate a service request. If over 6 months goes by he can also contact his congressman's or senator's liaison about the case taking too long. I have seen a few other Filipino cases on VJ where the wife has had to wait over a year for the I-130 approval. Maybe check in your regional forum. I don't understand why to be honest. But having your husband be proactive about contacting his ombudsman, congressman, and senator as well as calls to the USCIS is a good thing. Florida does not contain the fastest local offices by any means, but at least they're not Atlanta.

some of the tier 2 gets o mad because he got so many calls about the same reason that is why you can find some of them give some anwears starting from emotions but this is wrong thing he needs to be proffessional and give out the exact informations to us and not try to be frusrated or mad and make us even more depressed and if these kind of tier 2 dont like this they would step away and leave someone that worth these jobs and be so much helpfuls because they out in there just for assistance and not for misguidance that is something really so bad because we call them almost 2 times a week to keep the last update and nothing new actualy just the same old story turning like a wheel but the only thing that makes it even more bad are some workers that keeps us so depressed by their treatements and way of talking like if they are dealing with criminals protest6wz.gif

What is the estimated wait time at NBC? Our application was sent there for processing, but when you look on line for processing times, it doesn't even list the I-130. Called costumer service to inquire on processing times for NBC and the lady was very rude. All I wanted to know was approx. wait times for NBC and she wouldn't even tell me because I was not the petitioner. I didn't want any info besides approx. wait times. I can see this is going to be a real fun few months. I've looked at VJ timelines and there hasn't been many approvals from NBC lately. Seems to be there a little back logged or just that slow.

Since NBC itself doesn't process the vast majority of petitions, it doesn't have a specific wait time for it. They're processed in field offices and waiting time depends on the staffing and workload of each office.

I'm the beneficiary.

Want to know what's happening with your case? Here's the USCIS tracking page (get an account and see if the case's been 'touched'!). Don't get your hopes up though, some cases never even appear there despite being successfully processed.
